Deb Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Ok guys, I'll see what we can do....we got in late this afternoon....Talk about beautiful....mountains, the lake.......haven't seen the state park yet. I do know it's not a dry county, other than that, I can say, the night view is absolutely breathtaking. I can see Lake G from our motel room. Will see what we can find out in the morning. We won't have a lot of time before we have to head back home but I can say already.....I'm definately coming back for a longer visit!
Super User Gatorbassman Posted November 4, 2007 Super User Posted November 4, 2007 I was going to wait for my fishing partner to give me the yes/no but he won't know untill the week before we go. I'm not taking any chances. I am looking for two people to share the cost of the lake shore cabin I have reserved. I don't drink or smoke, but if you do that's fine with me. I'm there to fish with as many of you guys as possible and I do like my sleep. So there won't be much late night partying going on there. I'm going to take care of 1/2 of the cost of the cabin and the other half can be split between the two other people. This will keep the cost down to 176.25 for the week for each person. PM me if you are interested. For those of you who think you can't afford this trip. This is how we save money. The Lake Fork trip ran me around 500 to 600 bucks last year. That's was gas to and from the GA/SC line, gas in the boat, lodging and food. Not bad for a six day trip. So those who want to go please get together and share expenses so everyone can have a good time with no worries.
bassnleo Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Man I really want to attend..........I mean REALLY want to attend............. Here's my dilema. From now till March I usually stockpile as much $$$ as I can for my tournament season which usually begins in early to mid April here. If I commit my stockpile of $$$ to this trip things will be really tight for my tourney season. I already have an invite from Roadwarrior to stay with him and Flechero (I think) so that part will save me some $$$. Fuel is my only other considerable $$$ concern. I live in Northwestern PA and figure the one way trip to be over 700 miles. I plan on driving and taking my boat. Is there anyone up this way who would like to go with me and split fuel costs? I have a Chevy Silverado w/ extended cab, probably could actually take 2 people with me. I'm looking for 1 or 2 guys to share trip expenses. ANYONE UP THIS WAY INTERESTED?
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 4, 2007 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 4, 2007 Judging by satellite imagery, and pics from the two Guntersville websites, I'd say the trek between cabins and hotel/chalets would require a vehicle. Seems it's a very steep incline. I'm sure we'll be spread out a little, but my guess is that the majority will be in the cabins. Keri and I are staying at the hotel because we didn't want to occupy a 2 bedroom cabin when we only need one. We wanted to free that up for people who are sharing rooms. That, and there's wireless Internet at the hotel. Plus it doesn't hurt that the rooms are brand new. : As Fluke said, sharing expenses is what it's all about! This not only helps make the trip feasible, but also encourages everyone to meet and get to know each other. It's all part of the fun and experience that makes this trip so much fun!

Super User Long Mike Posted November 20, 2007 Super User Posted November 20, 2007 Since boat slips are not available, how will everyone be re-charging their boat batteries overnight?
Super User Gatorbassman Posted November 20, 2007 Super User Posted November 20, 2007 At the cabins. There are power hookups at the campsites as well. I'm not sure about the hotel parking lot though.

Super User Long Mike Posted November 20, 2007 Super User Posted November 20, 2007 More questions from the ignorant one. Does each ramp charge launch fees? If so, how much are they - and can you buy a temporary permit for all ramps? Also, can the above permits and temporary fishing licenses be purchased at the lodge?

Hey Mike, Try to be patient for a few more days. I have a couple of bloodhounds working with me to dig up as many details as we can find. STAY TUNED! Ronnie

luckyinkentucky Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Any chances of getting you all here in Kentucky in the upcoming years? It would be a lot closer for some of the Northern members on the board. Kentucky Lake is has 2,380 miles of shoreline and 160,000 acres of water. I spent a lot of time at Guntersville when I was at Auburn. Did a lot of research & studies there with the Fisheries Biologists. They are a decent fishery, and you guys should have fun. I'd like to go, but my local lodge outing is the week after that. We're going to be hitting Kentucky Lake / Lake Barkley for the Spawn. Have fun.
Yodie Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Kentucky/Barkley would be amazing... My parents live down there now and I have been fishing that lake since i was about 5 and my dad since around 1959. Please keep this area into consideration for future trips. There are many great palces to stay here too... Kenlake, Sportsmans, the Moors, KY Dam Village...
Super User Tin Posted November 26, 2007 Super User Posted November 26, 2007 Hey LBH-Got the ok from the wife!! I'll have my boat, got room in your cabin? Darrin LBH thought you weren't going, change your mind?
