Troutfisher Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 Ha, if only he was into fishing as much as me, maybe that would work. Oh well, we're going trout fishing in the mountains last week of October, maybe I can convince him.
frogtog Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 TF if you can get to NC I will have some extra room and you can make the other 600 miles with me. O r you can take one of my other truck and my Skeeter and fall in behind me.

I am guessing TF's parents would have some serious issues with him traveling cross country with strangers to fish for a week. Otherwise I would pick him up in the BassBus, he's on my way. Ronnie

Super User Long Mike Posted October 19, 2007 Super User Posted October 19, 2007 Gentlemen, I've just taken a hard look at the economics of attending the get-together. It would be a 12 hour drive for me and the gas alone would cost me over $400 for the round trip. In all the cost would be about $1000. Lake Fork is only about a 4.5 hour drive for me, and it is one of the best Lunker Lakes in the South. In addition, there are at least three lakes in Oklahoma that are noted for lunker bass. I know the trip to G'ville would be a lot of fun, but I am going to have to opt out. Avid's message/motto is "so many lures ...so little time. " I will paraphrase it by saying "so many lakes ... so little time." Maybe next year.
Super User Long Mike Posted October 20, 2007 Super User Posted October 20, 2007 Please disregard my previous message. Financially, the gods have smilled upon me. I WILL attend.

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted October 20, 2007 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted October 20, 2007 I want to see you fish wearing your helmet!
Super User Long Mike Posted October 20, 2007 Super User Posted October 20, 2007 Glenn, if I can figure a way to mount a visor on it, you're on.
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Man,...You're a tease, wouldn't be the same w/o you Mike. Team Helmet in the house!!
Super User Long Mike Posted November 2, 2007 Super User Posted November 2, 2007 Golly and Gee Whiz! I cannot believe the rampant excitement being exhibited by the prospective attendees! It's totally underwhelming! Not one post in the last ten days! OK, I'll start the ball rolling. From what I can gather from the crappy web site of G'vill State Park, most of the accomodations consist of a two bed-room layout with a King bed in one room and two Queens (please, no gay jokes) in the other. This layout would be appropriate for say, three guys, or a couple and two guys. Let's just stick with three guys. I'm looking for two other guys who would be willing to split the cost of the room with me for all five nights. If a married couple is interested, you would obviously have the room with the King, and the cost would still be divided by three. As background info, I'm sixty-one, I smoke, and I drink. I will not smoke in the room at any time. I would prefer to room with mature individuals who are not inclined to party to late hours. Since we will all be there for the fishing, I truely doubt that partying will be an issue. Also, I have a 17' Tracker that I can share only one seat with. I would prefer to share it with a seasoned bass fisherman because I have very little experience at the sport. My PB is 4lbs, caught during the last BR trip at Lake Fork. It's shown on my Avatar. If you are interested in sharing a room or the boat, please PM me.
jeremyt Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Mike, My wife and I are attending, I smoke like a train and drink like a fish, I would be willing to split the cost of a room with you 2 shares here to your one. I am 27 and my wife is old, I mean 33. We don't act like highschool sweethearts, so no need to worry there.
Super User Long Mike Posted November 2, 2007 Super User Posted November 2, 2007 Does anyone have any info regarding the availability of alcoholic beverages at the G'ville Park Hotel?
Super User Long Mike Posted November 2, 2007 Super User Posted November 2, 2007 Jeremy, let's see if we can make it a foursome. If it was three guys, the cost would be split three ways. I see no reason to split it four ways since your wife will be taking up the other half of your bed. You and your wife will have the King. If any potential roommate has a problem with this financial arrangement then feel free to make alternative plans. Fair is fair. Jeremy, PM sent.
Super User Gatorbassman Posted November 2, 2007 Super User Posted November 2, 2007 I am going to try to make a trip to Guntersville in a few weeks. I will take lots of pictures to share with you guys. If anyone lives closer than 5hrs drive and is willing to do it please let me know.
JCrzy4Bass Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 I would have loved to join you guys and actually have been looking forward to meeting a lot of you this year but Guntersville is a bit out of reach for me and my dad this year with finances being the way they are. The first year we have it on the eastern seaboard and a little further closer to us in Virginia we will be there. North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee, etc all places we could make. Just can't do Alabama with gas for the cars and boats this year. Sorry fellas. Have a good time and I look forward to an excellent video from you folks. I'm sure Russ or someone will have some nice stuff for us to look at when you guys get back. Later.
Deb Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Hey guys, We'll be in Guntersville this evening and in the morning......if there is anything specific you want to know.....just let me know. I'll take pics and have them up by Monday. Just post here and I'll check back ......
Super User Gatorbassman Posted November 4, 2007 Super User Posted November 4, 2007 I want to see picks of the resort hotel, cabins, chalets, boatramp, campgrounds. Inside and out if you can. Thanks for you willingness to help out.
Super User Jimzee Posted November 4, 2007 Super User Posted November 4, 2007 How many people are staying at the resort versus the cabins and/or chalets? I would like to stay with the majority so we can get together after each day and have a good BS session. I guess we could all get together no matter where we stay. Just curious??? Is there any way to make a list of who's staying where?? Yeah, I know, too many questions....I'm just excited!!!
Super User Long Mike Posted November 4, 2007 Super User Posted November 4, 2007 How close are the chalets and cabins to the main hotel complex? What I'm getting at is what kind of hike is required to reach the main gathering area. Also, do we have to import our own booze? Thanks, Mike
