BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted March 17, 2008 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted March 17, 2008 For all of those coming to the dinner Wednesday night, I hope you've paid up by now. Â Otherwise you are not accounted for and will not be able to attend. Sorry, but we had to let the hotel know the head count by now. Â It's a done deal.
Masshole Mike Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 it hit me good yesterday when i looked at the clock and it was 1:30 and i thought to myself "by this time next sunday i'll be fishing in alabama...." i can't wait any longer! as far as luggage is concerned i'm going to try to fit my clothes for the week + my backpack of plastics + my 3-box okechobee fats tackle bag all into one bag. my reels, one change of clothes and toothbrush are going in my carry-on, and i'm going to stuff some smaller clothes into russ' bazooka tube as well. i hadn't even thought of food, to be honest. i'll have to grab a small cooler to stuff some sodas and snacks in for the day. the only bad part about all this is knowing i WILL forget something important for this trip. i'm going to go make myself a check list of stuff so i can keep adding to it as more responses are posted.
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted March 17, 2008 Super User Posted March 17, 2008 Mike, like some of the other guys said...I wouldnt worry about forgetting something b/c chances are someone down there will have an extra or 10  I will be going to meet Muddy today after I get off work to make the pick up. I know what's for dinner tonight  Â
Super User Alpster Posted March 17, 2008 Super User Posted March 17, 2008 ...i hadn't even thought of food, to be honest. i'll have to grab a small cooler to stuff some sodas and snacks in for the day. Mike, Don't worry about a snack cooler, I will have an extra in the bass buss for you to use. That way you won't have to give or throw it away and won't have to bother with it on a plane. Ronnie

1-more-cast Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Everybody have a good time! Â Wish I could go. Â :'( Â Guntersville is one of my favorite lakes to fish (especially tournaments). Â
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted March 18, 2008 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted March 18, 2008 Would have been nice if you could have made it, Karol. Sure would've been nice to get a few firsthand pointers on Guntersville from you. Â Oh well, maybe next year. Â We'll catch a few pigs for ya!
Super User Jimzee Posted March 19, 2008 Super User Posted March 19, 2008 3 Days To Go!! I'm going nuts!!!
Shadcranker Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 I might be able to make the dinner Wed and fish Thursday. If so, I'll bring my boat, and Riskkid and I will fish out of my boat Thursday. Carl and I are paid up for the Wed dinner anyway, so hold my spot open, and if I can attend I will be there Wed evening. Thanks, and I hope to see you guys mid-week. SC
Super User Alpster Posted March 19, 2008 Super User Posted March 19, 2008 ALL DINNER PLANS HAVE BEEN MADE! Monday night - Muddy man's meatballs enough for 30 people. Those who have signed up and communicated their intentions will be served first. If anyone else shows up, they will be welcome to what's left if any. Tuesday night - Ghotti's camp delight. Also enough for 30 people. Those who have signed up and communicated their intentions will be served first. If anyone else shows up, they will be welcome to what's left if any. Wednesday night - We have a total of 25 signed up and paid for the BBQ dinner. I will try to get anyone else who shows up a place at the table, but please don't count on it. If I can work it out, you will have to pay cash at the dinner. NO MORE PAYMENTS will be accepted via mail or paypal and there is no longer a guaranty that late comers will be able to eat with the rest of the group. SORRY, I did my best. Due to the fact that we were unable to get the minimum number of 50 members signed up and paid, we will not be having the buffet dinner which was originally planned. We are having the plated BBQ dinner instead. This only requires a minimum of 25, which we have. In order to uncomplicate refunding the difference in the cost to the 25 members who have paid, I have arranged for the following: There is an additional cost for the cash bar to be open. We will be meeting in a private room with a bar. The additional cost is for the servers. 2 servers, dedicated to our group costs $15 per server, per hour. Everyone will pay for their own drinks at the bar. There will be plenty of funds to cover this with the difference in the cost of the dinner. Using the number of 25 who have already paid and is our minimum commitment, we will use the overage to pay the bar tenders. The total difference in cost is $196. 2 servers at $30/hour from 7-11 PM would cost $120 and will leave an extra $76 to pad the tip or cover any unforeseen expenses. Or we can give everyone a number and have a drawing for what is left. I would much rather do this than to administrate a 3 or 4 dollar refund to every individual. I will of course, provide a strict accounting for all monies collected and spent. I am closing the books on this part of the trip so I can prepare the bassbuss and get ready for the trip. As always if there is anything I can do to help you along the way, please let me know. Ronnie
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted March 19, 2008 Super User Posted March 19, 2008 I vote that we give the extra money to you for doing a lot of this leg work or to Glenn for the pavillion rental. Or......pad the tip like you suggested b/c I am sure southern hospitality will be at its finest at Guntersville. Either way...... VIVA LA GUNTERSVILLE!!!
CJ Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Yeah...what Speedbead said! Ronnie, Glenn and others who have put alot of time into the planning for this trip: THANK YOU!!! You guys have made it easy for the rest of us! Heck..all I had to do was say,"I'm in!"
Super User Jimzee Posted March 19, 2008 Super User Posted March 19, 2008 Y'all keep the extra money as far as I'm concerned. Â Use if for drinks, help pay for the pavillion, or whatever else comes along. Â At this point I'm just glad we still have a few going. Â I thought I was gonna be all alone on that big lake. 2 Days To Go!! Still going nuts. Â
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted March 19, 2008 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted March 19, 2008 Big Emergency Guys! The park just called me and said only 4 cabins are reserved. These are the people who have reserved cabins: Flukemaster RW Ghoti Jimzee (Blaine) Everyone else - if you booked a room or cabin, they don't have it on the books!
