Super User Long Mike Posted March 3, 2008 Super User Posted March 3, 2008 Bad news folks. Fishfordollars, one of my room-mates and my potential G'ville mentor, has been placed in a head/neck halo for the next six to eight weeks. That means he has screws embedded in his skull to hold him perfectly rigid. It also means that he will not make it it G'ville, so we will have one less boat available. Fishfordollars' departure also leaves an empty bed available for anyone interested in sharing 1/3 the cost of a room for the week.
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted March 3, 2008 Super User Posted March 3, 2008 That sucks Mike, I am sure we can get you hooked up with a ride In response to KU Bassmasters post in another area of the forum, I do not currently have a decent PFD. Does anyone attending the trip have an extra they could loan to me?
CJ Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I got an extra one Speedbead. I'll make sure I bring it. CJ
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted March 3, 2008 Super User Posted March 3, 2008 Awesome, thanks CJ. Dang, that didnt take long LOL
Masshole Mike Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 i'm right there with speedbead, i don't have a pfd of my own, so if someone could loan me one that'd be great.
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 3, 2008 Super User Posted March 3, 2008 Don't worry about it, all boaters have extras and I'll bring one for you anyhow. -Kent
Super User Alpster Posted March 3, 2008 Super User Posted March 3, 2008 i'm right there with speedbead, i don't have a pfd of my own, so if someone could loan me one that'd be great. I already had Speedbead covered, so if CJ don't mind your using his, it's all good. I have extras still, if needed. Ronnie ALSO... 14 guys have already paid up for the Wednesday night dinner. Good Job! Keep those cards and letters comming!
Super User Catt Posted March 4, 2008 Super User Posted March 4, 2008 I regretfully announce that I will not be attending the Guntersville trip; I wanted to attend this trip even more than Fork for many reasons. First was to meet everyone listed at Ronnie's web site, second I have a nephew in Birmingham whom I've never fished with, & thirdly I have a friend who like all of y'all I have known only through the internet and really wanted to meet him for a day on the lake. I take this as a huge disappointment in my fishing career but I would like for y'all to send a PM to a member Logan the friend I mentioned asking him to attend. Tommy T :'(
Super User .ghoti. Posted March 4, 2008 Super User Posted March 4, 2008 Dang Catt. I hope everything work's out all right for you. It must be something serious to keep you away. Whatever it is, we know you can handle it. You're one of the guys I hoped to wet a line with. See you somewhere down the road. Just don't take too long. We ain't gettin' any younger, ya know? Cheers, GK

Guest muddy Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Next Sunday the 16th I will go to Harrisburg to hand off the meatballs to Speedbead. This way he and Ronnie do not have to go out of their way to pick them up on the way to Bama. I am making the meatballs and I will supply the cans of tomatoes and paste with my recipie to make the sauce. Ronnie is more than capable as a cook and he gets the recipie. If I can't be there at least I can still cook for you ENJOY!!!!!!!
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 6, 2008 Super User Posted March 6, 2008 You da MAN! Thank you. ;D ;D 8-)
Super User Alpster Posted March 7, 2008 Super User Posted March 7, 2008 Next Sunday the 16th I will go to Harrisburg to hand off the meatballs to Speedbead. If I can't be there at least I can still cook for you ENJOY!!!!!!! Notice how I deftly swindled Muddy out of that recipe. You are 'DA MAN' Dominick! I got the bassbuss out of the shop today and she's tuned up and purring like a kitten. Almost had 3 wrecks coming home, the bassbuss kept trying to head for the interstate, had to wrestle her back to the house, just 16 more days. ANOTHER REMINDER TO GET PAID UP FOR THE WEDNESDAY NIGHT DINNER. 8-) If you are signed up for the trip and did not get a PM from me, let me know and I will send you instructions on how to send a check or use PAYPAL. ARE WE THERE YET??? Ronnie
Super User Jimzee Posted March 7, 2008 Super User Posted March 7, 2008 I just wanted to say a quick thank you to Dom for the meatballs. I am crazy about Italian food, thanks a lot buddy!! Reality hit me today about the trip. I made an appointment for next Thursday to get a new impellar installed at my local marina. There is nothing wrong with the one in there, it's just been in there going on five years and I don't want anything ruining this trip. The week after that, it's go time. I can't believe how fast it snuck up on me. I don't think I've ever been this excited to go on a fishing trip. WOO HOO!!! Two weeks to go. I am leaving Saturday the 22nd at 6 am. 517 miles and 9.5 hours of driving. I can't wait!!!
Masshole Mike Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 i can't remember the last time i've been this excited about ANYTHING. maybe when i was a little hellion waiting for christmas morning. i've been counting the days for a couple weeks now. i think me and flukemaster might be some of the first ones there, my flight lands in atlanta around 9:30 on the 23rd and gene said we should be in guntersville around noon or a little after. SWEEEEET....
Super User Gatorbassman Posted March 7, 2008 Super User Posted March 7, 2008 And on the water by 1:30.
Shadcranker Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Went to Big G today-TOUGH! Only caugh one fish in 6 hrs- solid 3 lb fish on a deep CB in 8 ft on a grass edge. Had two other bites. One tap on a tube and another swipe at the CB. Water was 46 when we launched and 51 when we left. Calm blue bird skies and extremely high pressure. We had 5" of snow in our area Friday night and Sat, so I'm sure the front hurt em, but it was brutal for me today. Good news- weather calling for lows in 40's- low 50's and high around 70 much of the week. The water should be up to 60 by next weekend, and if it holds we should have big waves of fish moving up for our trip. I doubt many fish are going to spawn on the March full moon around the 21st. Maybe some will be on bed upriver. I think we'll be on a pre-spawn pattern for sure, with lots of fish up shallow looking. Found lots of good green grass and fish all over the graph. Fish just had lock-jaw today. Still a nice day to be out on the water. SC
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted March 10, 2008 Super User Posted March 10, 2008 Well, I am glad you didnt hook all of them!!!! Look at it this way, thats more for us to catch in two weeks LOL I am just looking forward to water that isnt white.... and solid!!!!!!
