Ghoti, Flukemaster and I are sharing a guide on Monday also. His name is Jeff. Our guide is a lot better than your guide. Not only that, our guide's mother can beat up your guide's mother. :P ;D

Dear Elongated Michael, when Jeff's mommy taps out, stop by and see me. Maybe I'll tell you where we caught all the fish you couldn't find.  :D :D

Ya hear that RW? Mikey has just put in a request for a lesson. Shall we give him one?

Hey guys i just showed my wife the video of last yrs roadtrip and she was really excited she wants to go this yr. but since i am buying a truck then i told her we would have to wait till next yr. hopefully you guys do it again next yr. its awesome that she wants to go so bad. also its good when the wife wants to fish as much as you do. good luck. and how much do you think it costs you guys individually for a trip like this.

I pulled a boat to Fork last year and shared expenses with 5bass and it cost me about 700 bucks. This year will be around 700 but I am getting a guide for a day.

Guys, just thought I would let you know that there aren't very many cabins left. If you haven't got your cabin and want to stay in one you better get it soon. They only have one chalet left for that week too.

I showed this to my sweetie. She said, well, we have a spare room. Ask if anybody wants to share, so here we go. We have a cabin reserved for Sunday through Wednesday. We'll be leaving Thursday morning. If that fits your timeframe, send me a PM.

About the only condition I'll insist on is no smoking in the room. My wife is on prescription medications year-round for allergies, so she really can't take it. I've been known to spark up a cigar or two, so you'll have to do what I do, and take it outside.

Also, I like a beer in the afternoon, some wine with dinner and a glass of whiskey with my cigar in the evening. My wife too; except for the cigars and whiskey. If you're offended by drinking, we're not gonna be your ideal roomates. We're not drunks, but we're not teetolalers either.

If anybody is interested, let me know.

Cheers,

GK

Great offer ghoti.

While I might not be staying there, I may have to partake in the festivities with you.

Like you said, I am not a drunk....but I do have an appreciation for malt and hops.   ;)

RW and Jimzee, I have not forgotten  LOL

LOOKING FOR TWO ROOMATES

Unfortunately, Jessica Simpson and Gisele Bundchens have cancelled out on me. So, I have a cabin at Guntersville reserved Sunday through Thursday night (arrive 3/23, depart 3/28). Five nights split three ways = $235 each, which includes tax!

I won't smoke in the house, but I do smoke, drink, fart and snore. I like to go to bed early and don't care what you do.

Send me a PM if you want to share lodging, but at this point I'm really interested in "For Sure" not "Maybe". We will not necessarily be fishing together. I am not bringing a boat and with the exception of part of one day, I have made no arrangements. I plan to fish with guys based on the draw.

Thanks for the heads up Jimzee! There are only 20 chalets and 15 cabins in the park, so it stands to reason they would fill up quick. Bear in mind that there are 110 rooms and suites in the lodge, so you still have a chance to get a nice room, but I wouldn't wait till the last minute. I will try to help members get paired up and find accomodations untill the end of February. Send me a PM or post on this thread if you need any help. After March 1, it's every man for himself. LOL

With a little planning, this can be a very inexpensive fishing trip that you couldn't find anywhere else for any price. JMHO

UPDATE

Well, another Patriots fan is taking Gisele's place, so I have one (1) opening left.

Guys, just so some of you know as Fluke said, this trip is not that expensive.  My cost for the week is going to be $681.00 and that includes a cabin from 3/22 to 3/28, gas for towing the boat down and back, and gas for the boat all week.  Tell me where else you can get that kind of deal.  For those of you thinking about going but not sure, this will give you a little insight on what to expect.

For the guys that have been on these trips before:

Do you all set a certain time for everyone to be off the lake to eat dinner?  The reason I ask is I usually fish from dawn to dark and was wondering if most of you do the same?

There was no time set as to what time we were to be off the lake.  But dinner was served at 7:00 if memory serves.

ok.. ok..  Sure tempt me and leave me..   I would love to go.. But one unfortunate thing...  Due to a recent divorce and other difficulties...  I am without boat and fun...  I hope everyone has a great time...  LOL...

You can do what you want, but dinner is (probably) at 7:00 and my momma told me

"Never eat on an empty stomach."

Cocktails are a bit earlier.

Non-boaters are welcome to come.  Everyone goes fishing no matter what.  NO ONE is left on the shore!

another step closer!

i just got off the phone with the airline, i'll be arriving in atlanta, ga on march 23rd at 9am and then driving out to g'ville which will be about a 3 hour drive. i should be at the lake around noon on sunday.

my return flight leaves on the 28th at 6pm which means i'll be leaving alabama around 12 or 1 to get to the airport on time. what time is everyone else planning on leaving on the last day?

the best part is that i had a $280 credit with the airline and my round trip tickets only cost $240. which is actually kinda sucky because that's $40 i'll never see again, but oh well.

i'm just stoked because i've got my room and my plane tickets both all set. all that's left is setting up a rental car for the week and i'll be good to go.

VIVA LA GUNTERSVILLE!

Whoa!

Let's see if you can't catch a ride from Atlanta, you don't need a car.

Posted

that'd be a lot better for me, but i'd hate to inconvenience anyone by them having to go out of their way. i don't mind renting a car, unless someone wants to volunteer their services. i'd even pay for gas, tolls and whatever else for the ride.

btw RW, check's in the mail for the room. thanks again!

I might be able to pick you up. The airport is 3hrs from my house and just a little detour but no big deal. I just can't remember if I took off work Saturday night. I will have to check my schedule when I get to work tonight. Other than that there won't be a problem picking you up and taking you back. I used to work at the Atlanta airport so I know my way around that place. Now I will be towing a boat so I will have to pick you up curbside so I will be late on purpose. I'll PM you my phone number and well work out the details.

i can't get over the generosity displayed by the members of this site. LBH coming through with the bazuka tube for my rods, RW hooking me up with a room for the week, and now fluke offering to go out of his way to pick my skinny @ss up at the airport.

this place really is like a family. dysfunctional.... maybe, but still a family!

Haha, you definitely got that last part right..... ;)
