teamm3d Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 My tournament on saturday at salt run springs which is off of lake george in florida in case you were wondering. was bad bad bad. there was six tournaments going on on the same day and they all went to the springs for the sight fishing. it was a beautiful day but it was crowded, at any given time i had four to five boats within 20 feet of me trying to fish the same area, and me not being so good at sight fishing could not bag a fish for nothing. i did hook a nice one maybe four pounds but lost her in the matted grass. so nothing in the bag and a long day just to come up empty handed. oh and the official count was 136 boats in the springs.. ilovefooffur Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Wow, that's a lot of boats! Just look at the bright side, at least you got to fish. Quote
Bass Dude Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Wow, that's a lot of boats! Just look at the bright side, at least you got to fish. X2---Site fishing in January to me means that I can look at people fish on TV!!!! :'( Quote
Olebiker Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I spent my lunch hour studying a map of Lake George. Our club is going there next month for a weekend. Will the spawn be over by late February? Quote
christopherjake Posted January 7, 2009 Posted January 7, 2009 A bad day fishing is better than a good day working. Quote
River Rat316 Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 I would have stayed away from the crowds, not all the fish are spawning at once, theres still fish deep, fish in transition, if your not good at sight fishing practice it someother time besides tourney time. Me I am horrible at sight fishing, since are season is closed up here during the spawn it is rare to sight fish. there is still bass available in other parts of the lake ast any given time though! BassinSoldier Posted January 8, 2009 Posted January 8, 2009 Thats too bad man. You maybe could have done better hitting docks on the main lake. And I would imagine that there will still be some spawners in there but closer to the main lake in Feb. Quote
