Peacock vs largemouth..........no comparison, give me the peacock any time. there are about 4 species in the amazon and some go over 20 lbs. my buddy was down there catcing them on fly rod.

i want to try barramundi in central florida, hear they are awesome.

Uh, sorry to break it to ya but we're not in the Amazon.  We're in Florida where Lm out weigh P-***** by 3 pounds on average.

to be clear.....peacocks are easy to catch when they are bedding. That is because they rarely if ever spook off a bed. So you can sit there and tease them forever until they bite.

Apart from that they are a totally different fish than a LM and require totally different tactics. They can be just as elusive especially in the colder months.

Thanks for the offer bacabasser, I may be living there in a year (going to NOVA for grad school), I would love to catch some! I still dont mind having constant action, sometimes I get pretty bored throwing baits for hours for only a few fish i'm sure eveyone can agree with that on some days!
