Krzkev Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 I went with a friend to newly discovered canal system in the south somewhere, and we had the absolute best day I have every experienced catching peacock bass. Wow, what a day, I can honestly say in 5 hours we caught 40 peacocks, and 15 LMs to 4.5 lbs, the average fish being around 2 lbs. Heres a few pics, we got tired of taking pics after about 20 or so, here's the better ones. Quote

Krzkev Posted December 14, 2008 Author Posted December 14, 2008 Sorry guys, I do feel sorry for all you that have to cut holes in the water to fish this time of year. But, when I wake up and it is 50 degrees out that is what I consider to be cold (LOL) even though it was 70 degrees by noon. Those peacock bass really arn't a cold water species, so I was impressed that even in the cooler water they were still biting. Here's a few more. Quote

Speed Worm Posted December 14, 2008 Posted December 14, 2008 What canal is that exactly, if you dont mind saying? Quote
Krzkev Posted December 15, 2008 Author Posted December 15, 2008 Sorry everyone I don't want 50 boats fishing a 300 yard section of canal, all I can tell you is that it is south. There was already 2 boats in the section fishing with us. I think they follow the food, there was allot of surface shad activity in the area. They were on the rapalas like stink on a monkey. Good luck, all you peacock hunters they are down there and chewing. Quote
