Super User Sam Posted December 12, 2008 Super User Posted December 12, 2008 Beautiful. Simply beautiful. Enjoy it for many years. Quote
Mattlures Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Now see here is a perfect example of why NOT to get a skin mount. Your mount looks as good as any skin mouny could ever look and most dont ever look as good as yours does right now. The greatest advantage is, you could dust your off in ten years and it will look just like it does now. A skin mount will show decay and yellowing and its age at even 10 years. At 20 years most skin mount look terrible!! Your mount at 20 years will need to be dusted again !!! that is very good Taxidermy. I am glad you chose not to go with a skin mount or a less then good taxidermist. If I may, how much did it cost? Quote
IDbasser Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 That looks good. They did a very good job. Quote
Muad Dib Posted December 12, 2008 Author Posted December 12, 2008 it came around 360 i think. somepeople say too much but im looking at it right now thinking its worth every dollar. and some other places were more and less. so take it for what its worth but when i get my 10lber + sometime in the next 20 years haha ill def have them do it as well. good luck everyone surviving the wait of spring!!!!!!!!!!!!! Muad Dib Posted December 12, 2008 Author Posted December 12, 2008 heys guys trav here again. had a snow day so no work for me today cause of the ice up here in ny and was looking at some other mounts and saw prey involved in the mount so i got creative added in some plastic minnows in the scene with some thing metal wire. i also put on the pin that nys dept. of conservation gave me since i released the fish. think it looks pretty awesome now what are your thoughts? original looks great with my addictions ;D minnows onthe left pin on the right corner of the wood up close Quote

Muad Dib Posted December 13, 2008 Author Posted December 13, 2008 ya i love it. i cant wait for this spring! the minnows were fun to add and i might have to paint the wall to bring out the colors better and the size of this fish more because the belly of the fish disapears in white background Quote
