Red Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 went out this past sunday with my wifes step dad and his buddy. we caught a bunch of whites and a few small hybrids to start. then we moved to another spot and came across a school of big hybrids that were much shallower than normal, they were in about 27' of water. i caught two that were 21" and 22", step dad caught none, and his buddy caught the four biggest ones, three at 24" and one at 23", and they were fat too! was a great time, these fish fight like champs!! all fish were caught on my step dads home made "slabs", and all fish were released after the photo session! here is a handful of them... and "el paso" with the biggest one of the bunch thanks Cliff Quote
Super User flechero Posted November 12, 2008 Super User Posted November 12, 2008 Pretty cool outing! Were you guys up north or main lake? I talked to a buddy the other day that said he's been on the hybrids up north, and pretty shallow. Quote

I talked to a buddy the other day that said he's been on the hybrids up north, and pretty shallow. i have no idea, that lake confuses me. we launched at arrowhead and the fish were caught near the big water tower deal. like if you were standing on the water tower looking out at the lake, we were about a half mile down on the left. there is another launch nearby, rogers point i think. my step dad calls the area right across from the water tower, on the big "bend" in the shoreline, he calls that "B-Rock". the year before last we were there cuz we saw a bunch of boats in that area, we pulled up and couldnt keep the hybrids off our line!! it was crazy, and every other boat was catching them too, and they were big! anyway i have no idea if that is north or not. Super User flechero Posted November 13, 2008 Super User Posted November 13, 2008 Gotcha. I call that north even though it's technically about mid lake. ...lol (anything north of Morgan's point is "north" to me!) Quote
Red Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 yeah i have no clue, the guy i go with knows the lake very very well. he has been fishing it since he was just a kid. its too bad he didnt get into LMB fishing like his father, but he always puts me on whites and hybrids. Quote
