BirdNestBen Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Cold front passed a few days ago and fishing has been real slow... changed up tatics and went to 10" powerworm and fished it real slow...... caught 6 fish right before the front passed but today fishing was real slow.... caught 1 dink on spinnerbait..... but trip was worth it as to my suprise got a big strike and reeled in a 20 " bass... was real fat but probably only went 5 or 5.5 lbs... About to start slowing down even more and fish jigs with craw trailers to see if that might do the trick...... Quote
Big-O Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Here in TX it is starting to cool off as well but the fishing is still good. Hope you find them with the jig... Big O www.ragetail.com Quote

jjbassjj Posted October 25, 2008 Posted October 25, 2008 Here in Va i always have luck with small finesse baits. Especially drop shotting a small finesse worm. Pre Front or Post Front the dropshot worked painfully slow will produce. Quote

Monroe Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Oh yeah should let you know where this is......... Mesquite, Tx. I live close to Ray Hubbard but haven't fished it yet, as I haven't quite built up the funds yet for a big bass boat........ Nice to meet Ya. We a do a lot more angling than landing. So. I always tell myself this old saw. Boats don't catch fish. Fish can't swim as fast as those big old motors can run. With age, fuel prices and a wish to get back to the real fun part of fishin, we sold our big boat. Now have 4 old livery purchased Kayaks. Take the grandchildren as much as we can. So enjoy and hope you get that big boat soon. Quote
