I went out fishing a private farm pond today and had a great time. I caught 22 lmbs the biggest was 4lbs 8ozs and he was caught on a Cavitron buzzbait (ghost minnow, bleeding bait series). I also caught a 3lb 8oz on a Manns -1 and a 3lb 7oz on a Rage Tail lobster. Unfortunately I lost the biggest bass of the day, he was an easy 8lbs and I had him hooked on a Stanley spinnerbait (blue and translucent white/with blue specs). I was not prepared for the hit because I was talking to my buddy as a result the bass almost ripped the rod out of my hands. I now have a swollen wrist from fighting this bass I did not land.

That is awesome rondef. Glad to hear that things went well for you. Nice fish!  :) Sorry to hear about your wrist and the big one that got away but I am sure you will be able to get him again.

I don't know if I will be lucky enough to get access to this pond again. The people that own it don't even let their family (kids and grandchildren) fish it more than a couple of times a year, I don't understand that logic. I guess they don't understand that family is the most important thing in life, I feel bad for them.

I put an ace bandage on the wrist last night and took it off this morning. It feels fine now and I will be back out fishing Monday or Tuesday.

Thanks all for the comments. It was a real fun day of fishing, one of my better outings. I plan on buying the owner of the property a gift certificate for a dinner as a thank you for them since they let me fish their pond. Maybe I will be lucky enough to be invited back.
