what do you think about this rig

Main line tied to 3-way swivel which is tied to a buzzbait, and spinnerbait. just trying new ideas that will eventually lead to catching more fish hopefully. If i don't get the lines tangled on the cast, I think it will work.

I can't see how that wouldn't tangle on the cast. Also, that's going to require a pretty sturdy rod with all the resistance it is going to create.

The spinnterbait is going to add a lot of additional weight making it difficult, if not impossible to keep the buzzbait on top.  At least thats whay I think.

I was thinking the same thing thats the spinnerbait will make it hard for the buzzbait to stay on top.

To the original poster, if you try this, I'd use a spinnerbait with either a single or double willow blades only so there's less resistance.  This way it would make keeping the buzzbait on top easier.  Also you might try it with a high speed retrieve reel like a 7.1:1 ratio so it's even easier to keep the buzzbait up.  Faster reeling seems to help me keep them on top and with the added weight you're going to need it.

And lastly, casting a double lure like that might exceed the limits of the rod if you don't watch what weight lures you use.  Two 1/4 oz baits would probably be the best choice so you don't go over any weight limits of the rod.  That would only be 1/2 oz. that way which most medium rods can take, and definitely a medium heavy can handle.  Also lighter weight baits will make it easier again to keep the buzzbait on top.  That's all I have to add to it.  Good luck trying it.  Overcoming the tangling issue will be the hardest part.

If the baits don't tangle on the cast you'll have problems on the retrieve.

In order to keep the buzzbait on the top you'll have to reel so quickly that the spinnerbait will rise up right at the surface and probably get it's blades tangled in the buzzbaits drop line.

A few years ago I fished a carolina rig with a dropshot tied on above the weight. Worked good too but I finally gave it up because it would get tangled about every third cast. I think this will be the same way.
