These baits are amazing!!!  Some of you will remember my post from last night with the 8 lber... well, i've done it again.  My friend and I went back to the lake this afternoon after I did a few quick repairs to my Ultimate Male Bluegill with a woodburner.  I knew it wasn't a permanent fix, but it would hold.  I started throwin it out in a spot where I had gotten a hit on it the day before, and on about my fifth cast I saw a monster flash up from the depths to engulf it!!! :o

She peeled out some drag, but I soon horsed her in with my heavy rod and lipped her.  She was about as chunky as the one from last night but a bit longer.  The digi read out exactly 9 lbs.  We tried to snap a bunch of pics but the camera died after only 2  >:( so they aren't as good as last night's pics.  The hawg unfortunately tore my bait to pieces after such a quick repair job  :'( and I saw the broken form of a bluegill floating on the surface after I released her.  I snagged it with the weighted hook left on my line, but it is beyond repair with a big rip down the middle and the paddletail completely gone.... :'(

It had a good run though!  Can't complain about an 8 and a 9 in less than 24 hours!!!!  If I had done a better repair job, that bait would have produced many, many more hawgs.  Thanks Mattlures

im not goin for hawgs right now paul......im in the lead for the smallest fish in the *** tourney right now lol :D, and im gonna keep fishin with *** plastics for a while until im out, but i am also pretty cheap to buy a mattlure which is the reason for all of these hawgs ;). i have hooked up with a ton of big fish but have failed to land any :'(

;D Thanks Paul.  That is a hefty title!  Rob lands his fair share of hawgs.  Hudson hooks up with a hawg on a jig at one lake and then talks about it for weeks even though he didn't catch it.  Our other friend... well he's a little lacking in the lunker field and he's stuck on senkos... but he'll get there.

and Hudson, stop talkin bad about swimbaits!!!

Beautiful fish buddy. Man, you're tearing them up and I guess they're tearing up your wallet. If it were me having just caught those fish back to back, I'd be selling SOMETHING to buy a couple more. ;)

May I be the first to suggest maybe a complimentary one for this young man. No doubt he's leading some business to Mattlures. :)

o and i wasn't talkin bad about swimbaits . jsut sayin they expensive and they catch hawgs like the two you jsut caught. which i saw!

i agree. still i shouldn't have talked them down or doubted your guys swimbait skills( sorry rob and trey) so i will have to go out on a limb and buy one and try swimbaiting

You guys are doing awsome. Quick learners.  Get your self a bottle of Mend-it. It will weld soft baits back together like they were new. no hard spots and a permanet repair. You could cut the bait into 5 pieces and fix it like new with mend it. Now with major repais like that you might want to let it sit overnight but you could easily fix regular tears and give it 15 minutes and be back to fishing. Also I cant stress enough the use of lube. Megastrike, Procure, Smellyjelly etc. This makes the bait slippery so its easier to burry the hook and it makes the bait much more tare resistant.

Man you guys are killing them out there!!

Thanks for posting

Those are some amazing fish, and one right after another in just a days time is even more amazing.  All this swimbait action is making me want to get one.  $23 per bait is crazy though.  Guess I know what I'll be asking for come X-mas.   ;) ::)

Movarus, I've felt the same way as you about shelling out that much for a lure. In thinking about it though, I've had a goal to break 8LB this year and I've easily spent $60 on replacement baits alone (forget about new stuff) and have yet to get anything over 5 1/2 lbs. It's time... ;-)

Great job Bass Assasin

17lbs of bass for 23 bucks.   I could live with that.  One more pig and he'll be below a dollar a pound.
