LCpointerKILLA Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Caught a lot of pond bass today. At least 8 fish, 2 big ones. Next best kid caught 2 small fish. PLEASE GUESS THE WEIGHT OF THESE TWO *note: I'm 6'2 Here is the best one... she definately had some weight on her: Here is the second best one: Let me know what you think the weights are. I think the first one almost hit 7 and I think think the second a solid 5 Quote
StuntDouble Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Looks like a nice day and some pretty fish! Quote
daviscw Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Nice fish! I would say between 5.5 and 6 for the first and around 4 for the second. Keep at it! Quote
WTRDOG Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Nice fish...Are those glasses Costa del Mar... Quote

Newman12Fan Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 For reference, look at the recent post in here (my consolation prize, a 7 pounder). Compare the picture there and with your fish. I would say just under 4 on your first fish, not close to 7 pounds. Quote
Pigsticker Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 NICE FISH hmm what? LC that first fish is long between 6.5-7.5 probably 7lbs like you said second fish between 4-5 most likely 4.5+ IMO and that you never really show any small ones get the length and girth next time and you should be able to get a good estimate plus it is fun to compare measurements between bass, BTW I'm liking the look those glasses are great ;D Quote

Tokyo Tony Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Nice fish there - that first one looks 6-7 to me. Gotta love getting to your fishing holes in a golf cart, and a very nice golf cart at that (I bet that's a nice club) ;D Quote
Pond Hopper Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Fish 1 is lucky to be 5 lbs, and fish 2 is probably a good 3.5-4 lbs. You asked. IMO no way the first hits 7 or the second hits 5. Quote
mattm Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I say 4.5 and 2.5. Sorry its hard to tell by a picture. The glasses remind me of that Aussie guy that had the party this spring. Are you to famous for them. Quote
royce Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 My guess is about 4.5 lbs on the first fish and 3.25 on the second fish. They are nice ones. The best thing on fish like these is not to weigh them and then you can give them a higher estimate. I've used this technique my whole life.. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted August 11, 2008 Super User Posted August 11, 2008 I say 4.5 and 2.5 I think that's probably close, but a little on the high side. The combined weight would not reach 7 lbs. 8-) Quote
LCpointerKILLA Posted August 11, 2008 Author Posted August 11, 2008 Thanks for the input guys. My guess of almost 7 for the first one is because when I catch a nice fish and pick it up out of the water, I can usually tell if she has weight on her. But then again you guys are probably right. Scales break my heart sometimes Quote
gar-tracker Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 What did you use a 9 Iron? I used to build homes on a large development down here in the 70s, before they built the golf coursed i would arrive at 5 am and get in a couple of hours every morning. I caught more fish on that Golf course. Your lucky they let you fish there. Quote

This course is interlachen country club, a few of my friends are members. There are no houses on the course. It is a really nice club. They allow fishing on sunday after 4 pm if you are a member, and you can get a golf cart just to fish. The ponds are stocked with shad and tilapia, and there are aerators in each one. The ponds are very well maintained. But of course it is golf course pond fishing and it's almost like cheating http://www.interlachenccfl.com/Club/Scripts/Home/home.asp Quote

gar-tracker Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 Nice, I used to go to Rodman through Interlachen years ago, is that spring water fountain still on the way to the ramp? Quote
