My son and I fished a lake last night that we have only fished once before. The lake is more like a river and it is very shallow and the bottom is all silt. It is very different than where we usually fish, but its fun to learn something new (its also a lot closer to home). I got skunked using a black and blue spinnerbait, a red eye shad, sweet beaver and a cavitron buzzbait. My son caught the fish in the picture on a crankbait. He also lost one about the same size on a beaver. I was really glad he caught this fish.

Nice bass your son got. It sounds like a hard lake to fish too.

It seems to be so far.  They do have Thursday night Tournaments which  I've thought about entering just to see how other people do on the lake.

My son loves to fish.  He got me into bass fishing this year and we have a great time fishing together.  Growing up in West Palm Beach, I did a lot more salt water fishing.  So far bass fishing has been pretty humbling for me ( I thought Snook were tough).
