I picked up a pack of these toads and when I opened the plastic zip lock bag, the toads really stink. They have this really strong 'plastic' smell to it. Is it suppose to smell like this?

It overrides everything in my tackle box and when I open the box I can smell it.

btw, I have some CYB senkos and they don't have any smell to it? I thought they were scented. no?

They don't smell they stink.Get some ribbits or sizmic toads.

Btw,I think if plastisol is overcooked it will get a real pungent burnt type smell to it. Maybe someone who molds can answer, perhaps?

Regardless of how they smell, they just plain work.

I know they work, that's why I bought it because a lot of people recommended it. Is it suppose to smell so plastic?

I have noticed that smell too.  Not sure if it's "normal" though.

Storm baits although they do work, smell worse in my opinion.  Alot worse.

Strong plastic smell or not, they will catch fish.  If the smell makes you lose confidence in the bait, then you need to switch.  You have to have 110% confidence in what your throwing.  If you do decide to try and find an alternative, then check out the *** Strokin Toad.  This thing makes a racket, is extremely affordable, and doesn't really have that plastic smell  ;)

What hook do you use to rig it?
