MARSH MASTER Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 We need more info like what you were doing, the type of water you fishing, and color. Quote
JShrock07 Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 I know one inch usually doesn't make to much of a difference but I like to use the 5" senkos. Like Marsh Master stated we do need more information on what color lure, what area and color/type of water you are fishing. All these factors plus many more will dictate how these lures perform. -Nitro Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted July 31, 2008 Super User Posted July 31, 2008 It's not always about "what" you use, but the "where" and "how". Try this, but go ahead and just use your 4" Senkos: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1158577137 8-) Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted July 31, 2008 Super User Posted July 31, 2008 With the limited information you gave us , I would say you weren't holding your nose right. Quote
K_Dub Posted July 31, 2008 Author Posted July 31, 2008 i was fisihing in a pond about 16 acres. water was like normal lake water, not muddy, but not clear. the senko color i was using was watermelon with black flake. and it was wacky style. i was casting it out, letting it sink, then i pull up and let it sink again. just doing that over and over. JShrock07 Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 For a lot of good help with your senko needs check this out it is a very informative thread! http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1121527643 If the water is not clear I like to throw a green pumpkin/chartruese color... made by *** I rig it Texas stlye and use a very small weight in a lake/pond. I fish it just like a jig slowly moving it along the bottom. Good Luck to You!!!! Quote
the captain Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 This is usually how I work a senko too but if that doesnt produce i always try slowing down and jigging it right along the bottom. If that doesnt work ill speed up and steadily crank and just pop it every few seconds. If that dont work i generally T-rig it and try it slow, fast, mid depth whatever i can till i find what the fish want. The only difference is that I am usually fishing in a crick rather than pond or lake but same principals still apply for the most part. I generally choose my color based upon what the water clarity is as well. Quote
K_Dub Posted July 31, 2008 Author Posted July 31, 2008 see i guess one of my problems is that i dont know what colors to choose according to the water. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted July 31, 2008 Super User Posted July 31, 2008 Watermelon with black flake is the only color you need for any water. 8-) Quote
fivesixone Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Watermelon with black flake is the only color you need for any water. 8-) Straight Up. Quote
George Welcome Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Stop and consider: you did absolutely nothing wrong - it just wasn't your day. Quote
