BUCKEYEone Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Just curious to see if anyone else has gotten in great or not so great deals on fishing gear via craigslist. I found a guy selling a quantum tour edition pt for $50! Quote

Still a Bigbuckifan Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 A couple of months ago I found a guy selling St.croix rods cheap . I mean legends for like $60 and avids for $35. I was really broke or I would have loaded up. Quote
basser89 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 My only encounter with Craig's list was for an outboard. It was dirt cheap so I figured something was wrong with (which was no big deal). But when I asked what was wrong with it, I didn't get a response, I asked again, nothing, on the third attempt I said I would like to take a look at the motor BUT I needed to know what was wrong with it so I knew roughly what I was looking into money wise for the repair. My response, "nothing a repair shop can't fix". With that I decided to look elsewhere. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I haven't found anything worth my time on craigslist yet. Quote

I found a guy selling a quantum tour edition pt for $50! i hope you got it , that would be a steal if it was in good working condition ! i my self would be a litle leary unless i could open it up and see inside it and be able to cast it with a cast plug , you just never know what your getting , some times id rather pay a little more just so i know that im getting what im paying for . not all deals are good deals !!!! SimonSays Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I've sold decent gear on craigslist before (citicas and st croixs) but I've never been able to find any other good fishing deals. I'm still lurking though... Quote
KevO Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 I've bought a Loomis IMX rod on craigslist for $100. Yesterday someone posted a curado 100D for $100, and a loomis IMX 7' H rod for $200. I've also seen curado B's for $50 a few times. Other than those its just junk people don't want any more. Quote
bmadd Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Muddy-you're lucky your friend wasn't arrested in one of the prostitution stings on craigs list Quote
