Super User Raul Posted October 15, 2008 Super User Posted October 15, 2008 Big bites hurt some more don 't you think ? but lil bites are more bothering, big bite leaves you in pain and you are out of the tackle junkiness for a while, lil bites on the other hand are like mosquito bites, you just gotta scratch them over and over again and it ain 't only one mosquito bite. Well, I took a "break" in my purchases this year, I 'm just waiting for them Curado Es to appear at the mexican on-line stores to purchase me a couple, ya know, I just gotta have at least a couple, not that I need them, I want them, I said to myself: " NO MORE TACKLE !", thought that my will was going to be strong enough to fight the addiction ...... yeah right ! : Had recently purchased some Zoom Shakey Tail worms, not a lot, only a couple of packs ( that was last month, oh yeah 16 days ago, what an achievement ). I was looking at one of my t-bags and ........ I 'm out of 5/0 hooks , not that I have a lot of them, only a couple of bags, I don 't use them much anyways but I still like to have a few for rigging large baits like Brush Hogs and lizards. So ya know, you begin hearing voices like ....... all friggin day long >, BaitMonkey logic: you got to visit clients, right ? well, between client X and client Y you can drive a couple of blocks to Poncho 's place and get them hooks, it won 't take you long, it 's a 2 min drive, 5 mins while you get the hooks and 2 mins drive to get back in route. Sounds reasonable don 't you think ? 9 min, ok, make it 10 min. Gentlemen, let me tell you, it only take the BaitMonkey 10 min to give you a lil bite , yeah I got the hooks, plus a pack of 100 1/8 oz bullet sinkers, 4 packs of SS U-tale worms, 2 packs of Finesse worms a pack of 4 inch .... senko 's ? ( how come I got senkos when I don 't fish with them ? , go figure) and dropped 40 bones at Poncho 's place. So what 's it gonna be, big bite or lil bite ? Quote
adclem Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 The Bait Monkey is very very naughty. I hate it when you go into the store for a couple of small items ($10-$18) and you see some stuff on sale and then you walk out $100+ later. Thats how I got a couple new reels that I don't even need, sigh! :-? Later, Quote
rfrazier Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 I went on tackle warehouse for some flick shakes... and now i have a zillion rod on the way? The rod was coming sooner or later right? Quote
Super User Raul Posted October 15, 2008 Author Super User Posted October 15, 2008 I went on tackle warehouse for some flick shakes... and now i have a zillion rod on the way? The rod was coming sooner or later right? Some years ago I went to Academy for a 3 gal gas tank for my tub, in theory that was the only thing I was going to purchase .... later I found myself at the parking lot with a 3 gal gas tank, several packs of baits and a Calais 100A reel ........ how did that happen ? , still a mystery. ptomacbass Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 I love the bait monkey. without him I wouldn't have as many lures as I do. Quote
mase088 Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 About a month ago I went to Dicks for a Cavitron, a couple jigs, and some 5/0 hooks. I left with all that plus a Quantum PT Energy and a decent rod for it until I saved up more money for a better rod. Last week instead of getting a better rod, I got a Curado E7 and another decent rod until I saved up money for a better one. So now I need money for 2 rods?!?! For me it seems to be a reel monkey. > Quote
Super User Raul Posted October 15, 2008 Author Super User Posted October 15, 2008 How come you know you 've been had by the chimp and still you have that big grin on your face and that sensation of achievement ? Somebody pleez explain it to me. Quote
ptomacbass Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 because the chimp makes you buy lures so you love him. the chimp really loves high end japanese lures like lucky craft evergreen megabass ichiban jackall... another reason to love him Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted October 15, 2008 Super User Posted October 15, 2008 Big bite slows me down. Quote

Willzx225 Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 That flee infested primate also says things such as "You have a shakey head rod already but wouldn't it be nice to have a spare so when you are alternating between docks in calm pockets and docks with some wind on them you can throw the 1/8oz and then have another rigged with 1/4 for the windier docks" or better yet "KVD has 6 cranking rods with the same bait but different diameter lines so he can be more efficient on the water but you only have 2" Quote
fathom Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 my monkey just ain't right. got a $15 off $50 purchase from dick's when they opened here...walked in there, looked around forever and walked back out with nothing but a smile. next day, an internet buddy posted a nib steez for sale and i wuz on it like a cheap 'ho with hot butter. like i said, he ain't right but...he does have his priorities right. 8-) Quote
The Rooster Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 My chimps run in packs, but they are held back by my wallet size sometimes. Otherwise they'd carry me off!! Personally I'd love to cut the lines holding them back and just let 'em run wild. If I ever win the lottery......the tackle store owner here will probably retire early!! Quote
kayl. Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 The big bites I budget for. The little bites are the $10-$20 purchases that pop up 30+ times a year, they add up! Oh- and I can't resist buying $50 worth from Tackle Warehouse almost every time I get an email with a 10% off code in it... Quote
ptomacbass Posted October 29, 2008 Posted October 29, 2008 no cell phone means 60 dollars worth of lres from tackle warehouse a month for me and my dad. Quote
guitarkid Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 It has become a tradition now, with my first paycheck of the year, I spend $200 on various stuff. After that it is only basics (a crank here, line there) -sm Quote

Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted October 31, 2008 Super User Posted October 31, 2008 That guy will nickel and dime you to death. Yep.So back to the question.Which is worse?? These are the questions which cannot be answered, such as the meaning of life. I would prefer the big bite. Just get it over with as soon as possible then I know I am too broke to give in to any nickel and dime tactics. :-/ Quote
toolpush Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 That's the way I've been going lately. $20+ lures. Quote

Super User Redlinerobert Posted November 3, 2008 Super User Posted November 3, 2008 English, Spanish, Japanese. Not only is the bait monkey crafty, he's also multi-lingual. ;D Quote
farmpond1 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I can usually keep the little monkey at bay until I've saved up enough cashola for a trip to mecca (i.e., Bass Pro Shop or Cabela's). Then the gorilla can run free for awhile. Of course, what I consider a big bite may pale in comparison to those really afflicted with the disorder. Quote
