Tokyo Tony Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Got this one earlier today on a little Booyah spinnerbait Bottom view - she's been feasting on bluegills. That's how I caught her. I saw a huge surface splash across the way so I cast to it and she nailed it immediately ;D Got this one earlier today also on a Ragetail shad. One of the, if not the, biggest and loudest strike I've ever gotten from a bass. She didn't want my lure to get away A week ago on a 4" ***, wacky Same day as the previous pic, also on the same ***. Had to drag her through the weeds with my little spinning getup - if you look closely you can see the trail. Took me over a minute to land her. My biggest of 2008. I was throwing the Spro frog without much luck, so I gave up on the frog bite and decided to catch some dinks on a 4" ***, t-rigged. Well, this happened ;D Quote

HopelesslyAddicted Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Nice fish! I don't suppose you'd tell me where in CT that is... Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted July 14, 2008 Author Posted July 14, 2008 Thanks guys Mike, we do need to get back out to Quabbin. Maybe early/mid August? I'm out of town for the next few weekends... And Hopelessly Addicted - I found these ponds on Google Earth. They are unnamed, but there are definitely some good fish in there. Quote
HopelesslyAddicted Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 Google Earth? I've heard thats a great way to find ponds I'll have to try it. How'd you get your boat into this unnamed pond that you had to find with satellite photographs? lol Anyways nice job, it takes some work to catch bass like that in CT P.S. I'm going to the Quabbin for the first time this coming weekend... any pointers Quote

I'm going to the Quabbin for the first time this coming weekend... any pointers My "boat" is a 15' canoe, and I have wheels for it so I can roll it down to the water. As for Quabbin, you might want to post in the Northeast section and ask the question. I fished there with Cigarlover and we didn't do too well. He lost a nice smallmouth at the boat, I caught a LM and a pickerel. Mass Hole Mike did pretty well fishing a dropshot (I think) off of deep points. If you have electronics that will be a big help. joez2872-ct Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 nice ct bass ,those ponds look good ///wear in ct eastern western etc, iam in the new haven area ;D//// Quote
Tokyo Tony Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 Thanks the the kind words fellas. Joez - I'm in central CT, and although I fish mostly in central CT, my favorite part of the state is NW CT. It's absolutely beautiful in that corner of the state, and there's some good smallmouth fishing around there. Quote
Super User fishinfiend Posted July 15, 2008 Super User Posted July 15, 2008 Great spot and nice, chunky fish. Quote
