Capt Jim P Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 I'm a saltwater fisherman from Tampa Florida but I do venture out for Freshwater Bass from time to time, and I need some input concerning Hard bodied Bass lures. I use plastic worms when Bass fishing but would like to know what are the favorite Hard Bodied Bass lures in your neck of the woods? Please be specific, Brand names, sizes and colors. Any and all help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance Capt. Jim P Quote
daviscw Posted November 1, 2008 Posted November 1, 2008 Rapala, Bandit, Norman, and Lucky Craft are all very good well known hard bodied baits. Match the sizes to the depth you want the bait to dive, and match the colors to what bass would eat in your area. Quote
Super User Marty Posted November 1, 2008 Super User Posted November 1, 2008 I can understand your desire for specifics, but there are countless brands, sizes, shapes, colors, depths and actions of crankbaits. Get a brand you know, choose baits that match your desired fishing depth, get a light color and a bright color and you should be off to a good start. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 2, 2008 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 2, 2008 Chrome/blue back 1/2oz Rat-L-Trap in the spring. Can't go wrong with that! Oh, and Welcome Aboard! Quote
Capt Jim P Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 Thanks for the welcome and the info about the Rattle Trap. I have used the Rattle Trap in saltwater and at times it's dynamite for Speckled Trout. I have caught some of my biggest Trout ever on it. I think it is interesting how many of the old standard lures work equally well in fresh and salt water. Just a curiosity question, What do you do for a living and how often do you get out fishing ? BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 2, 2008 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 2, 2008 I fish almost every week of the year. As for what I do - I'm in the online marketing field. Quote
