Cracker Posted June 12, 2008 Posted June 12, 2008 I am a surveyor, and occasionally I get a chance to fish (more like darn near every day! ) 8-) Well today we were working along a drainage canal and my buddy spotted a nice bass. The canal was nearly dried up and there was only about a foot to two feet of water in it. So I grabbed my pole and tossed him a Zoom worm and after the second cast Bam! he nailed it! I wish it would have been in more open water so I could have fought him a bit though, he was at the bank in about two seconds flat! But it was nice to land him too ;D I only have a picture of my buddy holding him because when my buddy took the pic of me holding him he forgot to save the pic to my phone before he closed it. > Oh well, Still not a bad day of work huh!! we figured him to be about 4.5-5lbs what do you guys think ? Nice bass and sounds like a good day at work, I would say the fish is more around 2.5 to 3.5 lbs range. JMHO... Quote
Cracker Posted June 12, 2008 Author Posted June 12, 2008 No, my buddy holding the fish is a big guy, 6'3" 215, and we have caught and weighed in plenty of fish at local tourneys this one was definately between 4-5 lbs Quote
daviscw Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 I am 6'3" 185lbs. It looks right over 4lbs to me. Quote
Cracker Posted June 13, 2008 Author Posted June 13, 2008 oh yeah I almost forgot about yesterday morning. We were working next to a VERY small pond and were just messin with some dinks. Well my buddy was fishin and he caught his first dink and it threw the worm. Well lazy as he is he didn't want to walk back to the truck to get another worm, so he tossed the hook back in the water messin with some mayan cichlids and managed to snag one. He skin hooked the corner of it's mouth it was crazy. Then he tossed it back in the water and let is swim around, next thing you know we see a bass come chargin the thing and the bass hit it from the head first and knocked the hook loose and hooked himself at the same time. It was awesome. ;D That was the first time I have seen one fish caught on just a hook and then that fish lead to hook another fish Quote

There's really nothing to prove on this website. And for the record I'm 6'5" 280lbs , I've weight plenty of fish and it looks like it might be around 3.5 the best way would have been a side shot for girth. That's why I told my buddy whenever I win the lottery I'll buy everyone that has a fishing pole a scale as well.. Take care, good luck, and relax, fishing is fun Quote
Bass XL Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 Nice fish! I would say that it's 3.5-4. But who cares, it's a nice fish. Quote
Cracker Posted June 13, 2008 Author Posted June 13, 2008 Well that was my point all along, it was a nice fish caught while "working" Quote

Like you said though "who cares" it's a nice fish no matter how you look at it! Quote
