PeterF Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 These fish were caught at the same time on one lure. From what I can gather I think the LM had the Spook Puppy first and then the Peacock tride to take it from him. I've caught two fish on one lure before but never two this size. What makes it even better is that one is a LM and the other a Peacock. The LM was 4lbs and the Peacock was 3lbs. I also caugth a 4.5 lb LM and another 3 lb Peacock this morning. Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted March 1, 2008 Super User Posted March 1, 2008 I bet that was one hell of a fight Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted March 1, 2008 Super User Posted March 1, 2008 That is truly amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
bassdocktor Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 That's amazing. Wow that seems like something that would never happen. I've heard of stuff like that with 2 LMB but never with a LMB and a peacock. Just WOW. Quote
Pigsticker Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 HA finally i thought this was impossible but You did it. Two different types of bass on one lure at the same time. AWESOME WORK. ;D What makes this more amazing was that it was a peacock and a largemouth i thought for sure it was going to be a spot and a largemouth or a smallmouth and a largemouth but never a peacock and a largemouth CONGRATS Quote
Super User Alpster Posted March 1, 2008 Super User Posted March 1, 2008 That's slicker than snot on a door handle. AMAZING! Ronnie Quote
HesterIsGod Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Peter, That is absolutely crazy! I've never caught a double and would love to catch two dinks on one lure much less two of those pigs Quote
Krzkev Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 You can't believe how aggressive those Peacocks are, I have had them chase hooked LM's all the way to the boat, sometime 2 or 3 of them following the hooked fish. It is fun to watch, I can't say that I have hooked 2 at the same time, yet.... Quote
MaxDal Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Wow amazing ! A bass and a pea on the same cast, I think you're not helping those suffering from cabin fever I've caught doubles myself before, but they were always the same species (bass or perch). Quote
PeterF Posted March 3, 2008 Author Posted March 3, 2008 Thanks guys. We couldn't believe it when it happened. Here's something extra to the story. The LM was a fish that I tagged in December of last year. You can see the tag in the picture. The Peacock was tagged after the photo. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted May 31, 2008 Super User Posted May 31, 2008 Peter, That peacock looks like a speckled peacock bass with the distinct vertical bars and the broken white lines. Did it have black markings behind the eyes? Not only a cool that you caught a double header, but a possible rare speckled peacock, too COOL! Sorry for the old post coming back to life, but did a search for peacock and couldn't help but notice your post. Tight lines! Quote
