Hit this local city park lake today. I've gone there 7 times now and have only caught 1 bass under 1lb. Anyway, I went there today and worked the only area I always work. I knew there is bass there because they always wave to me. So I started to go through all of my plastics and hardbaits with no love. After 2.5 hours of working that spot, I decided to go back to the plastic I first started with (pearl white zoom lizard, t-rig no weight). Anyway, after 15 minutes of working this plastic, the bass finally did an about face and got right up on the plastic. I froze because I got excited about getting bit. Then it just turned back into the weed.

My question is this, was I suppose to keep working the plastic even if by doing so, it may slowly remove the plastic from the bass' general area? Or, was my instinctive reaction right? Please let me know because I plan to clock in my hours at that same spot on Sunday.

It could be many things. Maybe the color wasn't the one Mr. Bass wanted. But either way I wouldn't have quit working the lure no matter what. Have you ever just quit working the lure when you were fishing a depth where you couldnt see the bass? I haven't. I always work the bait the way it should be worked and if the fish doesn't want it then you have to give another bait a try if the fish shows any interest in the bait you need to change colors to appeal to the bass. Dont give up just because a bass doesn't act like he wants it. keep trying all different kinds of baits. You will catch him!! Good Luck!!!
