Branuss04 Posted May 7, 2008 Posted May 7, 2008 Every year since I can remember, my dad and I take my grandma out for mothers day for a day of trout fishing. Nothing big was caught, but we caught 20 total and kept 10. We should have caught more, but at my grandma's age, her reflex's aren't as quick as they used to be, so after the trout played with her hook, ate her worm, and digested it, she would finally set the hook, but would miss it. She probably missed more fish then we kept. All and all, it was a great day, a memory i'll never forget. Oh, and found a new sleeper lake ;D. Saw a few 4+ smallies and a couple big largies over 5. Hopefully i'll be able to hit it soon. Quote

Branuss04 Posted May 8, 2008 Author Posted May 8, 2008 Thanks guys... yea, I had a couple buddies who busted my chops for going "trout" fishing, but it wasn't about fishing at all. PondHopper wrote this in his thread about his dad Life is short, and family and friends is all you really have in life and why not enjoy it while you can Couldn't agree with it more!!!!! The look on her face when she caught her fish is priceless. Hate to say it, but one day, memories like this is all i'm going to have... might as well keep making memories like this to hold onto. Enough of this mushy talk :'(.... FISH ON!!!!! ;D Quote
Pond Hopper Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 What a great post, it is not all about big fish or numbers...but the experience. And as you quoted, there is no better experience than getting out with the ones you care about Great job Branuss! Quote
