Went back to the small lake this morning where I caught the 7lb 14oz week or so ago. Was about 20yds from where I hooked it. Got a strike, set the hook and knew it was another really good fish! Landed it and if it wasn't the SAME fish it was a clone with a hole in the same place where I hooked the first one. Weighed it and it was 1oz heavier than the first time. Had to be same fish on same bait (Grn. Pumkin Brush Hog) a week later !

 Caught 1 small one and a 4lb 3oz to round out the morning. Ya'll are gonna have to cut me some slack on this cause almost didn't believe it myself ;D...

I caught a 3lber a couple days after a friend went to the same spot and told me he got broken off. The fish still had his hook deep in its mouth.

I've seen them do that when the bait fish in the lake starts running low.  They will hit at anything that moves.

Yeah I had something similar happen to me.  My brother and myself were fishing in a small lake and I broke off what seemed to be a really nice fish, snapped my 15 lb florocarbon leader.  And a few casts later he hooked and caught a 3 lber, the fish had my leader hanging out of his mouth,  I recovered the hook and the bait and released this very hungry fish.  It happed the same way a year or so ago in my canal system, smaller fish though.  Fun stuff, 2 time that happed to me and my bro....

you're on a roll buddy!  keep up the good work.  i figure a lot of the fish i catch in the small lakes i frequent are "repeat customers".  i know for a fact some of 'em are b/c of unusual markings, scars, and other distinguishing characteristics.  i try not to keep 'em out of the water long enough to analyze 'em that closely though.  hey, same fish or not, it still counts as a separate catch and that's cool.  keep on whackin' 'em buddy.  your knockin' on the door of that dd mark.  best of luck with more bigguns.

NICE! fish of that size are always fun, no matter if its the same fish or not!  I've caught the same fish four times in a row before... but sadly it only weighed about 1.5 lbs

Some fish that are marked in my lake have been caught 2-3 times. (We keep records of the fish growth and mark them by numbers)

this fish is gaining an ounce a week.  so at this rate, my calculations indicate this fish will be a 10 pounder by next year.  you've only gotta hang on one more year buddy.   ;D

seriously, a fish that big can gain about a pound in one day with a good meal or 2.  if you happen to catch her again after a feeding binge, she might be pushin' 9. .  hope you do.  congrats again on this fine fish.  she obviously likes you.

Years ago on Sam Rayburn I was flipping a lizard under the willows, a fish hit and I broke him off on the hookset. Sat in the boat reriged, fliped back in the willow and caught the fish first cast. Still had the hook and the lizard in the corner of his mouth. Must be a cousin to yours.
