Needemp Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Has anyone noticed Yum plastics with LPT out producing normal plastics or even salt inpregnated plastics? has anybody noticed them performing better than Powerbaits? Quote
CrazedL.IFisherman Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Kind of a side note and sorry to not answer your question, i am interested in purchasing a bottle of this stuff but ive heard that it leaks into almost all baits and changes their colors, so im hesitant to buy them, not positive if this is true but thats just what ive heard Quote
Chris Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Yum fish formula tends to stain your lures. They use what they call shad enzymes. Enzymes are found in the digestive track and help break down and digest food. So that would lead me to believe that shad enzymes is nothing more than shad gut. If they are taking a whole shad and drying it then grinding it up then they are just marketing one element. If powerbait just has a curiosity scent it would play the same role as LPT scent and serve the same function. The package I am looking at that is made by Yum says 3x as potent + salt (with added salt). Berkley products say proven scent and flavor twice the power plus Bio-salt (sea salt). I guess both feel that salt is important. Quote
bass109 Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 yum craw never worked for me, but powerbait has worked. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted January 28, 2007 Super User Posted January 28, 2007 I dont think any other scented baits can touch Powerbait. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted January 28, 2007 Super User Posted January 28, 2007 Someone was talking in another thread how he saw a fish in the tank at BPS take ahold of a powerbait worm and not let go. I can tell you from my experience that's exactly what happens. When a fish hits a powerbait worm they grab ahold REAL good. Quote
WhiteMike1018 Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 YUM baits have always produced for me, for i have some confidence in them. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted January 28, 2007 Super User Posted January 28, 2007 I fish alot of yum products, the bass hold onto yum almost as long as they do power bait. I hate the Yum sprays/attractant's , the crawfish one is red colored and stains everything, I use either the Berkley Powerbait "Bass Formula" attractant, or Mega Strike. Quote
JigNBig Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 if u want a green soft plastic worm....try using LPT scents spray. what a waste of money. im thinking about sending them an email about this Quote
hookem12_0 Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 I dont personally fish alot of Yum plastics. I will tell you that I soak any and every plastic I throw with Bang Garlic. It makes all of the difference in the world. Quote
Gorgebassman Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 I have never used any of the yum sprays I have a few of there plastic baits. I use alot of the power baits and the gulp baits and I really like the carolina lunker sauce on my baits as well seems to make a diffrence sometimes and any advantage you can get to catch a fish is good in my book. ARfishermen08 Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 I couldn't agree more that yum outpreforms in my experience with the baits. I can't count how many times i've had a yum bait and my partner has somthing else and i outfish them every time. My grandfather, who is an excelent fishermen and has won a few ametuer tournaments, didn't believe it until we tried a "contest". He now too is a believer. Quote
Brad_Coovert Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 YUM spray will change your bait's color. The green one will dye about any bait green. Also stains other things, as my non-boater found out, the hard way >, in my boat. :'( Brad Quote
logger Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 I have had some success withthe YUM products. Haven't had much luck with powerbait. Quote
jigfisherman Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 I fish YUM plastics all the time, I fish both the YUM and Powerbait at night and can not tell a big differancein either one. I always use the YUM garlic spay on my jigs and I have not notice any dyeing problems and I have not had to leak either. BUT thats my opinion and as you can tell I am parcial to YUM. Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted January 30, 2007 Super User Posted January 30, 2007 I have had some success withthe YUM products. Haven't had much luck with powerbait. My experience is just the opposite. I've caught a lot of fish with Power worms, tubes, craws and brush hawgs. Haven't had much success with YUM baits, at all. Go figure. Didn't like the spray because it stains everything. Too messy for me. Cheers, GK Quote
