MaxDal Posted March 24, 2008 Posted March 24, 2008 Man, thats one heck of a chub! Well be sure to understand that this is not the chub you'll find in the US... this one grows much bigger as everybody can see. Not the same species anyway. A 20" chub is not that rare here. Check this out : http://www.fishbase.org/Summary/SpeciesSummary.php?id=4482 They will hit just about any lures, even caught one on a swimbait and some with texas-rigged brush hogs. They are far from being good fighters and often considered as trash-fish (although when you get skunked on bass, you're always happy to find them) In fairly small waters like small streams here, they are very very spooky and freaking hard to catch... the fly-fishermen use them a lot as training.....way smarter than a rainbow for sure. But in big rivers they're pretty dumb. Here's one I caught yesterday ! Right in the middle of Paris... as you can tell from the pic, it's pretty cold here. (Sorry guys, the picture is blur ... I'm trying to understand how my new camera works .... and still have a hard time with night-shot) Sorry to jack the thread Daniel ! :-X Quote
