i took my little emily out fishin' yesterday and she had a blast.  she caught some real nice bluegills and a 1.5 and a 3 pound bass to boot on some of the smaller gills we kept for bait.  the only downside was that she lost big bass, a real heartbreaker. :(  but in true 6y.o. fashion, she wasn't fazed at all, just happy with the ones she had.   well, i went for a while with her again today.  this time, she was done after catchin' a few bream.  but she did ask me if i caught the fish she lost yesterday, to make sure she got a picture with it.  i figured since the live bream worked pretty good yesterday, i'd just go with that again.  but i wasn't interested in 3 pounders, so i chunked a bluegill out that was about hand-sized.  took a while, but the bluegill started exhibiting the jitters and nervousness they always do when a biggun' is about to make lunch out of 'em.  and buddies, let me tell ya, when this one hit she meant business!!!  she absolutely freight-trained the gill and the fight was on!  she gave a real good account of herself too on the little spinning rod.  7-5 on the digital scale.  ;D   i got little em over there for a quick pic and put the fish back.  i asked her if she thought that was the one she lost yesterday.  she said excitedly, "i think this one was even bigger!"  what a way to end another great fishin' trip with my sweet girl!  :)   hope y'all are catchin' some too.

great job paul and emily!!!!

that sounds like alot of fun. i love the feeling that a bluegill makes when a bass is about to smash 'em!!!!

im heading to the local park tomorrow, where bluegills are a plenty, hopefully i can get some little ones to use for bait (last time i was there the shallows were void of bluegills, which is uncommon...too cold i guess).

catch a biggun or two for me ;) ;D
