Super User T-rig Posted March 17, 2008 Super User Posted March 17, 2008 .....but I caught this big chub and a zander today. The chub was caught on pointer 78 and the zander on a evergreen icecream bill shad. The bass just won't bite even though I see plenty around. Quote

Infidel. Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Nice fish T-rig. I've always wanted to catch a Zander! Most of the sportfishing books I read as a kid were from Europe and they always mentioned Zander. One of these days! Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted March 18, 2008 Super User Posted March 18, 2008 BIG CHUB!! Those Evergreen Icecream Bill Shads are sweet. You can find a few on Ebay from time to time. Looks like it's starting to get a little warmer there. Quote

MaxDal Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Nice little zander Daniel ! Funny it's so dark .... they're usually that dark when spawning or getting ready to. Looks like you caught him pretty shallow on that gravel bar .... well if your zanders are starting to spawn, that should be bass's turn anytime soon. Do I spot an Ice-tea bottle in the boat ? Quote

Yes, I caught him on a gravel bar in 2 meters of water. You're right, they usually have that color when they are spawning but the water is only 8 celsius. They usually don't start spawning until the water reaches 12 celsius. He must have made himself pretty a little early this year. ;D Always have my ice-tea with me. Quote
