Super User Bassn Blvd Posted March 15, 2008 Super User Posted March 15, 2008 Yesterday was the first night tournament of the year (6-10). They are every other Thursday from now until October. To start things off, I forgot about the tourny until 1 1/2 hours before it started. My trolling motor was half charged and only 1/4 tank of gas in the boat. 4 of my 7 tournament rods were unlined and my partner was throwing up. My partner managed to boat 1 fish that went barely 1/2 pound and I only had 2 hits in the entire 4 hours of fishing. 2 hits! How embarrassing and pitiful is that since I fish the same body of water all year. All we can do is pick our chins up and do better next time. Besides, we were giving everyone a heads start on points towards the classic. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted March 15, 2008 Super User Posted March 15, 2008 Well it can only get better for you. Quote

tallydude Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Wow. You should probably quit fishing altogether. ;D Quote
Bartlesville Fisherman Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 U think u had it bad? We fished a tourney on sat. The weatherman said 65,it never hit 50 with a dead North wind of 25 mph. We had a plug leak about the time we got to the spot. So we hadto pump out the boat and replace the plug in the water. My partner who is the man who taught me to fish backlashed so bad it had to be cut out at the end of the spool. No line means no reel. I had a bearing fall out of one of mine. Down two poles. And we got one bite all day and it got off. We fished for 8 hours. Only 5 teams out of 30 weighed in fish. 1 had a limit. The rest had one fish. Thats eight fish total out of 30 teams and eight hours. I feel your pain.......... trust me. > Quote
bocabasser Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 bassin where is this night tourny? can anyone fish them? Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted March 17, 2008 Author Super User Posted March 17, 2008 They launch from Lake Osborne main ramp off Lake Worth Rd. You can fish anywhere you want from there as long as you stay in the boat. They are every other Thursday from 6p to 10p. There is a one time registration fee of $30. and then $40 per team per tournament. You can fish by yourself if you want to. Usually pays top 5-6 places, depending on how many show up. Last week I think we had 30 boats. The top 10 teams with most overall weight fish the classic at end of year with guaranteed payback to all 10 teams. Big time cook afterwards at ramp with raffle and prizes. BB-Q is free and they had NY strips last year. Quote
thetr20one Posted March 17, 2008 Posted March 17, 2008 Supposed to be 60 and cloudy was 85 and bluebird sky. Forgot boat key! Partner hung over. Skunked. It happens! Quote
