Well guys, I've been waiting over a year to get a new PB that isn't from a private pond (The old one was 5-8), and after a long boring winter, I finally stuck her..

She went 9lb 1oz. I felt her strike and swung on her, she was there for 2 seconds and then swam straight for the boat, I picked up the slack line as fast as I could and when I caught up to her I swung her again and got her closer to the top and dragged her in. I'm still getting the chills when I think about it. What a day!!!!!

Man, I know how it feels, I just got my first 9 yesterday too. Great feeling huh!

Sucks to be so close to 10, but oh well.

Congrats man.

Try having a PB of 9.98lbs. Like me.

Great fish man, Congrats

I know that sucks. I was 5oz shy and that really hurts.

Branuss, i'm sure you'll break this PB in the next month or so.

Thanks guys I appreciate it.

The only bad thing that happened all day was my cardiff broke after 4 or 5 casts.  The handle mount broke at the base where it connects to the outside reel casing.

Tokyo Tony - I talked to Brokejw and he told me he caught his 9 on a cheeto, so I got some of the puffs in regular and threw it on a mosquito hook under a bobber  ;D

Brokejw - Thanks bud, it's an awesome feeling, I already plan on spending 99% of my days off for the next many months fishing, so i would be stoked to get a DD

Burley - I don't let jay get close enough to rub anything on me, especially when it's dark  :o

Haha, I was gonna post for you and say you caught it on a cheeto too, lol. I guess the secret is out for 9lb bass in Cali. Gummy worms are the ticket for 10lbers, but I'm all out! I plan on fishing 5 days a week for the next few months to hopefully get that one DD!

We got 9's in the same day, maybe we'll get our DD's on the same day too.

Nice bass! I wouldn't be complaining. You ride dirtbikes?

i was wondering if anyone would say anything.  Yes i do.  My bike actually broke at sand mountain back in oct 2006 and haven't been riding since.  Just got the money to fix it and am taking it in this week.

I started my new fishing hobby after my bike broke thinking it would be a cheaper hobby :o boy was I wrong.  I have a XR 400.

man i'm happy for ya.  i know you got a huge adrenaline rush out of lippin' that fatty - even more than jumpin' or hill climbin' the dirt bike.  i know, i've done both too.  fishin' usually results in less serious injuries though. :)

That's a great looking fish ! Congrats on the new PB !  :-)

BTW, what is the primary forage in that pond ? That fish looks like it has had plenty to eat....

Their has got to be a DD in that pond, somewhere, huh ?

Go get her !  :-)

Peace,

Fish
