Super User T-rig Posted February 28, 2008 Author Super User Posted February 28, 2008 How cold is the water in this beautiful lake right now ? About 7 celsius. I was really suprised that I caught a bass on a spinnerbait with the water being so cold. Quote
MaxDal Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 wow my mistake ! Spring fever is still a long way ... Last year I caught a bass slow rolling a 1/2 Single Colorado on Dec. 28. And the water wast just above the freezing point. Quote

Fish Chris Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 first off, what the others said > Yes, those are some nice, healthy bass. Good job ! But I'm totally tripping here..... How is it, that I'm the only one here who doesn't know what species of fish your holding in the first photo ? Or, the only one that thought to ask..... or, that I'm the only one that noticed that that first photo is not a bass ? Geeez, I thought I knew pretty much every fish in North America.... and 98% of the freshwater fish, and 90% of the saltwater fish on the planet as well. But that one has me stumped. Uhhhh.... maybe an Asian Grass Carp ? ......but then I thought they were almost totally plant eaters, and that one ate a crankbait ??? Am I the only dummy here ? Will you please clue me in ? Thank you, Fish Quote
Super User T-rig Posted March 1, 2008 Author Super User Posted March 1, 2008 Chris, it's a European Chub. Look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_chub Why don't you send me some of those big california bass. Quote
MaxDal Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Yop Chris, We're ready to give away all those chubs for a couple 10 pounders .. deal ? The chub is not much of a fighter but when bass are standing you up, it's always nice to have a couple of chubs taking your topwator lures. Even caught on texas rig with bruh hog ...weird fish ! And even one on a Real California 128 once .... Quote
MaxDal Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 Last year I caught a bass slow rolling a 1/2 Single Colorado on Dec. 28. And the water wast just above the freezing point. How big? Sorry Daniel, didn't see this one. Well the bass wasn't really big... 40-45cm (15"-17") (.... But a chunk of a fish ! Caught on the trailer hook and barely felt the strike. Quote
