Woke up early, did some shiz around the house, decided to take a walk.  Threw a reel on the Cumara and tied on a jig, hoping that the local drinking water factory wasn't iced over.

Sadly it was, so no Cumara test run.  :'(  Decided to walk the bank and take some pictures.  Found some very promising spots.  ;)

Lake is down about 12' or so, actually up at least a foot since the first of the month.

Did find a couple of baits.  One spinnerbait wasn't worth picking up (skirt was in good shape, rest of it was crap).  This spinnerbait, OTOH, was in pretty good shape and in a very odd place.  Don't know why someone would have been fishing the bait where I found it.

Just needs a little cleaning.

Yep, I got the hard water blues!  :'(

Keep walking and see what else you can find on shore, in the trees and bushes and in the water.

I found an almost new chartreuse spinnerbait in the James River; a Rooster Tail in a tree; and I got my Bandit crank back out of a tree on my pond.

As the water goes down I am finding wood in the water that have eaten my baits through the years.  If the pond gets any lower, I'll walk out and try to get them out of the trees and stumps.

Let us know what else you find.

I think you guys are needing rain more than we are. :-/

We're getting some of it now.  We got 4" in Jan, need another 10-15" over the next 3 months to really get back to a good spot.
