jeremyt Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 Well after being in a career school for the past 3 weeks, they gave us a little bit of break today and let us out early. The weather was great compared to the past week between here and VA. Anyways, I asked Andrew if he wanted to go and try his new spiderman pole that he got for Christmas. He was all about it. He even had to help load the truck up. On the way there he fell asleep, so dad had a little bit to fish. I was throwing a x-rap that my sis got me and caught one dink. After that I couldn't stand it anymore I woke him up and boy was he excited. I rigged him up with a #4 hook and a night crawler and it was on. I helped him toss it out and let it sit. The hardest thing with a two year old is getting him to just let a cork sit, but after a while the cork goes under. I help him set the hook and make sure the fish is on. His smile lights up and he starts to reeling. Get the fish up on the bank and its a shell cracker all of about 4 oz, but looking at the smile on his face you would have thought it was a world record bass. I take a few snap shots of the fish and ask him if he wants to put it back. Before I can get it all out he chunks the fish back in the water. We stick around a few more minutes with just a few nibbles and I decide to call it a day. From the advice of one of the members here ( I can't remember who ) I took him by the C-store for his choice of a candy. The best part was when he got home and told mom that he caught a fish. She asked him how big and he holds his arms apart about three feet. It was awesome. I think he really enjoyed it and I am looking forward for the next time. I can't find my USB cable right now but as soon as I do I will post some pics. Quote

demonjd22 Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 That right there i would think makes it all worth it. I'm too young to be a father to a young fisherman yet, but when they reel in that first bass i'm sure its all worth it right there. Congrats to you and your son! You know plenty more are there where those came from! Quote
