Low_Budget_Hooker Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I KNOW you can buy stripper, shoebox full of ones will get that done but I'm 95% sure you can also buy striper. I knew a guy, few yrs back, that held a commercial license and we discussed prices, etc. We were getting about $1/lb more than the Jersey guys at the time. My point is that if they have commercial licenses for selling striper,.....SOMEONE is buying it. Plus, do an online search and you will see that it is offered in Jersey restaurants. Quote
Guest avid Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 NIce fish Chris, Say man, you don't know what your missing by not eating those stripers. they are great eating. cut them into steaks then roast them in the coals of the bar b que. You get out some aluminum foil, then baste your steaks with some honey mustard salad dressing. then slice up a lemon and lay the slices on the steaks. Now add some sun dried tomato and fresh cut onions. bake to perfection. Oh Ma God !!! UMMMMMMMMM Gaaaaaaaooooooo-ud Quote
Super User RoLo Posted January 11, 2008 Super User Posted January 11, 2008 To me, the flavor of striped bass is very similar to gray weakfish. I've eaten so much striper flesh, I'm surprised I don't have chestnut-colored stripes running down my flanks (BTW, I used to sell striped bass to restaurants in New Jersey) Very nice photograph Chris!
