airborne_angler Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Got a Ziploc bag of these Zoom worms in a lot of fishing plastics I recently purchased. Whats the proper name of these worms, and how well do these work when presented properly? Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted October 20, 2008 Super User Posted October 20, 2008 Thats a dead ringer. I like it for pitching to specific targets such as stumps. Good at night also with its oversized tail. Looks like a smaller one judging by the picture. The ones I use are called big dead ringer. It's an okay worm, does it's job. Quote
Pigsticker Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I have that exact same worm and color. It is a dead ringer. Never liked them, too much tail not enough room to bury a big hook in it. Yet some of the sizes go up to 8 inches and you can only put like a 3/0 hook in it. There are much better worms out there IMO Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted October 20, 2008 Super User Posted October 20, 2008 The new generation rage annaconda is a much better oversize tail worm.I would rather chuck it out there. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted October 21, 2008 Super User Posted October 21, 2008 The new generation rage annaconda is a much better oversize tail worm. Why? Quote
Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted October 21, 2008 Super User Posted October 21, 2008 Because it looks and acts different and puts off a lot of thump. Whatever floats your boat and catches you fish. There are a heck of a lot of things that I think are junk that other people swear by. Quote
Super User Sam Posted October 21, 2008 Super User Posted October 21, 2008 Hey Airborne, What was your picture that was removed? E-mail it to me. I got to see this!!! And the name of the worm, in military language is... whyjumpoutofaperfectlygoodairplane It's the Army in me. ;D ;D ;D Quote
simplejoe Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 A friend handed me on of those deadringers from nose to end of the tail was only maybe 3 inches. I laughed at him said what's this. My buddy said try it we were smallmouth fishing. I tell you we caught alot of fish that day with that little thing. I guess I won't laugh at him next time Quote
Bassboss Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Looks like a C-tail, or dead ringer. Nice pink back ground! ;D Quote
Super User Raul Posted October 21, 2008 Super User Posted October 21, 2008 That is the G-Tail ringer my friend, very good indeed. I bought some packs last year at Academy, they are the closest thing to a favorite bait of mine ( Ecogear 's Paramax ). Quote
gatrboy53 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 zoom dont make any junk and will out fish most other brands including sk.the dead ringer is an excellent pitchin and flippin bait.in the hands of someone who knows how to use it will put big fish in the boat. Quote

If you look closely, the tail is not that of the G-tail but a regular dead ringer. The G-tails have a thicker tail with serations on the tail end and look like "dead ringers" of the old Ditto Gator tails. Quote
