My Uncle came down from Mississippi for Christmas so I took him out this morning on the boat.  We headed out at 6am and made a stop at the local diner for sausage gravy and biscuits.  MMMMM GOOD!!!!!!

I caught this little fella on my new ultralite using a spinnerbait on 4lb mono.  What a blast it is catching fish on lite tackle.

This hit a while flippin the cattails.  She was about 3 1/2 - 4lbs..

We ended up catching about 8 bass but most were about a pound.  We got home about 1:30 and went back out at 3:30 to do some bank beating.  Unc got this hog.  Looks smaller but she was a healthy 8.

All in all we had a good day.  Oh yea, remember those lizards? We pulled the boat up under a bid tree to eat lunch when one of those lizards fell off the limb and into the water about 5' away from us.  Darned near made us mess in our mess kit.

P.S  Can any of you northern folk swap about 10* cool weather for 10* of our southern warm weather?  End of December and it's 80*, water temp 72.

Wow that 8 pounder looks like a 5 pounder. I can't believe someone let that iguana go. Looked like a good time.  ;)

great time! looks like yall had fun! thats a small 8 but it looks fat! was it released?

ALL of my fish are always released.

I was on my way over to pick my uncle up from my parents house(2 blocks away) to go fish  when he had caught this in their backyard canal.  He said they weighed it but it looked a tad lite to me too.   I think he just didn't want me to out fish him for the day...
