Ok guys me and a buddy of mine were thinking of what to do this summer as its is my senior year of high school right now and i will be going to college and we decided on a fishing trip. We aren't really sure of where we want to go. Not too sure of what we want to try and catch either, something big and that fights lol.... seen how we haven't really caught anything too big yet. So i guess im just looking on suggestions from you guys on anywhere u guys have in mind that is good fishing, if we should get a guide or what... AS far as location im not too concerned with that we're willing to travel the distance, we live in nh by the way, but it doesnt have to be in new hampshire. So any suggestions would be appreciated thanks guys.

What is your skill level? If I were you I would find a lodge in Ontario Manitoba Canada. The fishing up there is amazing and the scenery is beautiful as well. There are many lodges in Ontario on the Riddeu chain that will rent you a boat which includes gas feed you etc. . The farther you go the bigger the pike get to it seems. I know people that go WAY north and catch some 40+ inch pike. The pike fight man i'm telling ya you get a 30+ incher on it is a good time. If you need any contact info or places feel free to PM me. I will send ya some places you can check out.

I would say beginner but not totally stupid i guess lol. we started fishing heavily last year, but i have been fishing for as long as i can remember but just not too seriously i suppose. I will definately do some research on that robby i'd heard canada's great for that but idk why i never thought of canada when we were talking about it, thanks for the tip.

Make sure you know the laws of canada before crossing. They were talking about needing a passport to get into canada recently. I always used mine there so I didnt need the birth certificate and so on. You can also drink there so that would be a plus for ya. If you do the drinking portion do it safe, buy it and take it back to your place or knock down a few and chill before driving home.

Yes, hire a local guide, wherever you go. It just does not make sense to try to figure out a strange body of water on your own. Hire someone for the first day, at least. You'll learn about the hot patterns that you can then use on your own, if you like, for the rest of the trip.

Where you go depends upon what you want to catch. For LMB Lake Fork, Tx, Clear Lake, CA, or Lake Okechobee, FL. For SMB Lake Erie, NY. Those are MY dream destinations. If you're on a tighter budget, think about Lake Guntersville, AL for LMB or Lake Wheeler, AL for SMB (and those two are consecutive in the TN River chain, so you could do both!). I can't speak to any other species you might rather go after.

Just my personal $.02...

Do you want to drive to your destination, or would you be open to flying there?  What's your approximate budget?  And would you prefer saltwater or freshwater?

Dude! You have Winnie right in your backyard! Why would you want to leave?

Ya i spoke with my buddy tonight. It would be freshwater we're looking for and we'd be driving there. As far as budget umm im not too sure i mean not too much but not the cheapest, sorry i no its not much help...haha. Canada and champlain are some possibilities we're narrowing down from but anyother ideas on places would be appreciated. And yes we'll be getting a guide for at least the first day. Thanks for the help guys.... I will be doing some followups on this to let u guys no whats going on. thanks again
