tallydude Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 So I decided to play hookey on Tuesday and called Bassn Blvd. He was off so we headed out to Lake Osbourne. We managed to find a few fish, as well as get my first peacock bass. Here are some pics. Doug in action: First bass of the day: A "foot long" bass: My last bass of the day, a 3 pounder: And here is an iguana, of which we saw about 10: Quote
basspro48 Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Nice fish man! I fish Osbourne every April when I go down to FL during spring break and it has been very good to me. Last year I caught 4 fish that went 4+lbs and 2 definite 5lbers, and that was just off the bank. Quote
Bassboy15 Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Cool Beans, Nice fish, looks like a fun day Quote
Super User Tin Posted November 9, 2007 Super User Posted November 9, 2007 I remember those days when we could wear shorts and tee-shirts outside, lol. Only another 6 and a half more months. > Nice fish, where abouts do you guys get peacocks in this country? Quote
Guest Steve_P. Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Anybody else think Westpalmdude looks like Charlie Moore in that pic of him holding the 3#er? I'm just saying.............. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted November 9, 2007 Super User Posted November 9, 2007 Tin2win...The peacocks are plentiful down south around Dade (Miami) and Broward counties. Peacocks have been moving north to Palm Beach over past couple years but all I have caught are 1 pound and less. Okeeheelee park holds some nice peacocks if you know where to go ( I'll never tell either), I just can't get the 3-4 ponder to hit. But I know for a fact they are in there. Jason, I said you could hold my fish as long as you did not take credit for it. It was a beautiful evening , except for the wind which died down about 30 min before dark. We hittin it again Mon. and Tues. so get ready. Rattle Trap season is here. Quote
Super User T-rig Posted November 9, 2007 Super User Posted November 9, 2007 Great pics! 8-) No pics of the peacock? Quote
bocabasser Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 i have been trying to get my club to fish a tourny out of lake ida/osbourne for 2 years now. they usually laugh and i am out voted. december through march the ida/osbourne chain are off the hook. my club just hates the jet skiers and idiot boat traffic. leisurville has some toads---but they only want a specific bait. great day gentlemen! Jake. Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Nice Fish Wish we had some peacocks up here... :-/ Quote
Lightninrod Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 Nice catching y'all! Surely miss South Florida! :-[ Dan Quote
tallydude Posted November 9, 2007 Author Posted November 9, 2007 Great pics! 8-) No pics of the peacock? No, I caught it on a Yozuri minnow and it had 4 hooks into it. By the time I got them all out, I just wanted to get the fish in the water. It wasn't that big anyway, only about 11 inches, if that. I'll get a bigger one soon enough. Quote
Deb Posted November 11, 2007 Posted November 11, 2007 Hey J, glad you took a little you time. You need to remember.......no pic........no PROOF! ps.......somebody in Kentucky loves you Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted November 12, 2007 Super User Posted November 12, 2007 I'm his proof. I think he opted not to photograph it because it was about 8 ounces.. Quote
