I like the original Rat L Traps and Xcalibur brands.  They are both good in my opinion.  The Xcaliburs have great colors, and I like the way they shimmy when the fall on slack line.

I also like the redeye and ArukuShad Jr.  The Aruku shads are very weedless and they sit upright on the bottom, people say they make a good bed fishing bait, but I have never used them for this.  I would recommend any of these models mentioned.

I have caught 80% of my fish this year on a Red Eye Shad. Its the best lipless crank I have ever thrown, but I do still keep my rat-l-traps in the box.

My personal favorite is the Berkley Frenzy Trap and the Red Eye Shad. I can't even count the number of fish I have caught on the Berkley Frenzy.

For some reason, I've never had any success with the Rat-L-Trap. I always did very good with the Rapala Rattlin Rap. This year I tried the XCalibur Xr50 and Strike King Red Eye Shad, with fantastic results. I would give a slight edge to the XCalibur Xr50.

I've done well this fall with the Yozuri, Strike King and my wildcard has been the Sebile Flat Shad which is silent and does well in clear water lakes and when the fish are spooked out by the rattles.

My favorite is a Lucky Craft Lv-0, simply because I fish from shore, and 99% of the water I fish is very shallow (1-3feet commonly), the Lv-0 seems to adjust itself in each level of water it enters, mostly staying the middle depth, and rarely ever catching any weeds or gunk on the hooks. Plus I've caught plenty of bass on em ;).

Although as "cheap" alternatives I like Bill Lewis Rat-L-Traps (the hooks are crap though..), and Rapala rattle traps. Ive also heard some great things about the yozuri rattle traps but have yet to try one.

I like the Rapala as well as the Strike King Red Eye Shad.  Sounds like there is a couple others I need to try as well.

Later, ;)
