This is a multi-day report from my 10 day vacation that ended yesterday. This vacation was for one thing......FISHING!!! The only day I missed was on Sat when I decided that it was too late to venture out after chasing down some new Delco Trolling batteries. After nearly $600.00 in fuel for 9 days(ouchy), here's how I did.........

10-8 32 Bass at various locations on traps, cranks, c rigs, and long a's

10-9 23 Bass on the same things.

10-10 112 Bass between myself and a friend. We had 72 Fish between us by 10:30 on traps and topwater. We then had to "work" for them until ending at 112 fish.

10-11 I had 49 Bass and my friend had 10 Bass. No, I didn't whoop him. I picked him up later in the day, but he did manage a 7.25 and 5.0 on Chug Bugs. Obviously, our totals would have been higher if he had started with me in the AM.

10-12 A friend and I only had 28 Bass between us on traps and some other junk. We chose to go looking and we did find some VERY promising areas for the near future.

10-14 I chose to go to Garcia(wind)and caught some little Bass, with a few "good uns" mixed in. Typical areas and typical lures produced on this day.

10-15 Garcia.....I don't know what the heck happened. I sucked more than usual on this day. Several little ones and that's it.

10-16 Garcia.....I Got into them a lot better this day numberwise, but they were almost all little buck Bass.

10-17 Last day of vacation. This was to be a day of rest, but late in the morning I got the itch and headed to the Marsh. After talking to an old friend at the ramp, I probably got out there and to my spot at about 2:00.

I had three areas GPS'd that I planned on hitting. The first spot produces a 3# on the second cast. I was pumped, but this area only produced one more bite and it came unbuttoned.

I then moved to another spot. Upon arrival, I found the fish in a feeding frenzy. Shad were jumping for their lives!! I cast into this Shad bust and got three fish before it was over. I stuck around for a while and then left.

On the last day of my vacation with 2 hours of daylight left, I decide to check a spot that I have been meaning to check for the last couple of weeks.

On my first cast I get a 3.0. From 5:00 to 5:45, I proceed to boat 15 Bass. 5.0 5.0 and 6.0 are the biggest. Of those 15 fish, nothing was smaller than 3 pounds. I am the ONLY boat on the Farm. I'll admit that I was moon walking on the deck about halfway through that 45 minute 15 fish spell.LOL It wasn't the numbers, it was the average size. As quickly as it started, it was over. I still had about 1.25 hours of daylight left, but at 19 Bass, I decided to haul it back to the ramp. I am kicking myself for NOT trying this spot until the end of my vacation. I will always wonder.....what could have been?LOL

Garcia is currently at 25 feet. For reference, it was 25 1/2 feet just after the hurricanes. Obviously, this is very high. 24 to 24.5 is what I consider normal. Anyways, Hydrilla growth is pretty mellow right now. It's gone in a lot of areas. The fishing there is spotty, but this lake is constantly changing and I expect it to be on fire again this Winter.

StickFarm has been practically deserted this Summer. I have had to turn off the lights so to speak when leaving the ramp on many occasions. I have read some reports of the Stickfarm being tough this late Summer on one particular website. This is a case where "what you throw and where you go" makes all the difference in the world. I think the fishing out here right now is the best I have seen it in several years. Obviously, the only exception to the last sentence would be during the Springtime free for all in the South end. As usual, this lake fishes very small.

Say Hi if ya see me out there!!!

My apologies to the board. You see, I was merely poking fun at Avid for his rapping/rhymeing request for me to take him out again. I was trying to make it as silly as possible.

George, I'm sorry. In my haste, I neglected to get your approval for the above post. I hope you accept my apology.
