After I was done with work today I hit up a local pond on base. I took my fly rod out today and was fishing with a cream colored popper. Wind was blowing pretty good from the east so I got back in a cove where it was a little bit calmer. The water is low, but way clearer that I have  ever seen it. First cast about a hand size blue gill comes up and attacks it. I catch three more blue gills, then the water blows up, I am thinking to myself this could be a bass. I get it up and was baffled. I am not too up on all freshwater fish but this had the shape of a blue gill, the color and markings off a bass and its mouth was just a bit bigger than that of a bluegill. Any clues. I wish I would have had my camera, but my wife had it due to one of my kids having a school function this afternoon. I plan on going back in the morning.

I have caught crappie before, well atleast black crappie, I have personally never caught a white crappie so that it could have been but I don't know. I am going back in the morning with a camera so hopefully I can catch another one.
