Well the last 3 times I have been out have produced on dink, and tonight I finally got that off my back. Then I saw the weather this afternoon, barometer at 30.15 and steady, winds out of the north...where to go. So I head to one of my honey holes hoping to fish the dam and get a good bite with the wind blowing right into the dam. I have a spinnerbait and a buzzbait rod handy and I start out with the spinnerbait. Lots of floating weed patches made it a little tough, but 2nd bite, wham! Set the hook and feel some good weight behind it. The fish makes a run and I go to stop her, but I am using a BPS reel with a weak drag not my Revo, crap. So I paly her out and I see the spinnerbait is not hooked well when she gets close, she goes to make another head shake and I drop the rod tip down and opposite way she is going. She stayed under and I landed her shortly after. She was 3-12 on the scale and a very healthy fish. The pic didnt turn out the best because the view finder is broken and I am not use to the timer on this camera. This one represents her ok. I caught 2 more fish the rest of the night, one dink and another fish that was very fat and maybe 2.5 lbs. The night ended with my snapping my buzzbait off in mid cast because of a backlash and overpowering casts into the wind. The wind did not help my cause all night but I was glad to finally land a decent fish after all the rain late last week.

Congrats man, after 2-3 outings and not one decent fish, I get discouraged, so I know the feeling man, makes catching a decent fish feels 100 times better!

keep a bait in the water.

sooner or later something comes along and eats it.

the trick is gettin em to do it sooner that later.

Nice fish! Did you notice that fish is missing part of it's gill plate?

Not until someone else pointed that out and other than a genetic defect all I could think was a big snapping turtle?

Got a decent one tonight, she acted huge as she was splashing in the weeds which are newly flooded.  Sorry the quality is terrible but I am just getting used to a camera with a timer and the LCD screen being broke.  About 18 inches and 2.5 lbs.
