Super User flechero Posted October 15, 2008 Super User Posted October 15, 2008 unless your into catching really big bass mono is just fine........ ;D ;D Good thing you qualified that, we don't have any slop or big fish here in Tx. : Quote
BirdNestBen Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 fishing clear water may braid may not be the best choice... I've haven't had any trouble getting bites as I fish many clear water ponds...... I have had good luck with P line 15 lb. test...... I have that on one of my baitcasters...... still I love the braid much more as even if you backlash it's really easy to get out..... WIth that palamor knot it's not going to break and you don't get real nervous when they tangle you around stuff...... I didn't like it at first- took me a while to get used to it....... Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted October 15, 2008 Super User Posted October 15, 2008 Back on topic... The Palomar Knot is a great one and will perform at or very near 100%, but several other knots will work just fine. I generally tie the Palomar, but here's another you might try: http://206.210.94.83/assets/recommended_knots/pdf/fhf_knot_sixteen_twenty.pdf Also known as a Duncan or Pitzen Knot. Quote
shorefisher Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 palomar. its been proven to be the strongest knot in many situations Quote
