my dad works at a local railroad depot and he told me the other day about a small pond that's located right next to the depot. i guess it's (un)official name is "stump pond". i made the 10 minute drive out there around 6 the other night after work. i didn't have a boat so i was stuck to the shore, and the first spot i tried was all overgrown and made for nearly impossible casting. i saw another spot across the way that was accessible from an adjoining road and made my way over there. needless to say i was glad i did.

the first two pics are of a decent little 2lber, and the second set of pics are of a nice little 3lber i pulled in using watermelon/black flake 5"senko's.

i probably look grumpy because it was getting dark and the mosquitoes were out in droves, haha.

i went back the morning after around 8am, it was only about 55 degrees out and the sun hadn't quite come up over the trees. i got skunked except for a tiny little largemouth, and my buddy that i brought with me caught a 7 or 8" perch. we were only out for an hour or so, and it was definitely the wrong time of day for that place. next chance i get i'll be heading back out there to see what else i can pull in.
