Lightninrod Posted August 10, 2007 Author Posted August 10, 2007 Thanks y'all. Deb those KY are just hoping you'll catch(and kiss as in your avatar!) them. Go get 'em youngun! Yea, I know what y'all mean. Ten years or so ago, I was fishing out of a jonboat with my BIL on a hot July day down in Tallahassee, Florida. No water, just Coke...stupid! Plus I was chewing some string tobacco and, of course spitting. When we were pulling the boat out of the water and stowing the gear away, I just started getting dizzy and passed out. I felt it happening and I managed to fall onto the Explorer's tailgate. My BIL didn't see me fall but he said later he heard this awful sound coming from me and he rushed over to me and started to roll me into the truck but I woke up and said "Wait". He kept pushing but I wanted to just get into the front passenger's seat. I did and he got the AC on Max. and I felt much better. No Emergency Room visit; just went to his home, got a shower, a nap, and supper and all was well but I know to watch myself. DRINK WATER---ALL YOU CAN!!!! Dan Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Don: if you are not a diabetic the best way not to dehydrate, and keep your electrolytes together is Gatorade, cheap and effective! Quote
ivey_fish_camp Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Yeah I take a half gallon of frozen gatorade, bananas, sandwiches, and maybe some beef jerky. I also take a dish towel, soak it in the pond, put it in my cooler with ice, and wipe down frequently. It really helps me in the to fish all day in the 100+ temps, sculling my boat all over the ponds. Also I'll soak my hat, let it marinate in the cooler, and put it back on, makes me feel like a new man. Quote
ivey_fish_camp Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Dan, has anybody ever told you that you look like Lesley Nielson from Naked gun. Quote

Olebiker Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Plus I was chewing some string tobacco and, of course spitting. When we were pulling the boat out of the water and stowing the gear away, I just started getting dizzy and passed out. Yeah, that happens to me when I chew tobacco too. Don, do you have a camera set up on a tripod in your boat? I fish alone most of the time and don't have anyone to take my picture when I catch a fish. Quote
Lightninrod Posted August 14, 2007 Author Posted August 14, 2007 Yes Ob, I use this tripod with my Canon Powershot G6 camera. I fish alone about 95% of the time. The tripod with the camera clamped on lies collapsed on the deck behind me until I need it for a pic. Dan Quote
