Guest avid Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 the South Florida boyz got together again at Okeeheelee park in West palm beach. HOOOOOOOT day. fishing was pretty poor, but as usual a great time with great guys. My title refers to the only bass I caught. When Alex (New2bass) saw the merthiolate trick worm I caught it on, he kept saying You caught on a bass on a pink worm?. I would then correct him and say it was merthiolate not pink. this happened several times. Now, many of you are probably saying who cares? but Alex is registered nurse working in the surgical unit at Miami something hospital. If I'm gonna have a heart attack and this dude is gonna be assisting while they cut my chest open, he better dam well know the difference between merthiolate, which is common hospital item. and PINK. Hope my son behaved himself and didn't plot too much on destroying his mom come Oct Quote
George Welcome Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 "They also missed the fun of outhouses, baths in the front yard in wash tubs or in front of the wood stove in the living room, I could go on and on...." Okay: I buy the methiolate, castor oil as a cure all, and perhaps Iodine, but outhouses, wash tubs, and jump seats were for the most part before my time even. Anyone for some Moxie? Quote

George, honest, I've got pictures!!! not that anyone else is seeing them ;D ;D We lived in the Land Between the Lakes, before the government ran us all out. We (Dad and Grandad) had a farm that was on the bank of Barkley Lake. Our land had about a mile of lake frontage. Man oh man, wish we still had it! My grandparents lived in a log house my grandfather moved from the river bank when they flooded the bottom land to make the lake. We moved when I was 6 but believe me, I remember the trips to the outhouse, the front yard baths and such!!! We did have one of those little white and red "chamber pots" for night time and REALLY cold weather Quote

Super User burleytog Posted August 13, 2007 Super User Posted August 13, 2007 I'm 30 and I remember outhouses and methiolate. Then again, I spent a great deal of time with my grandmother. My neighbors didn't get an indoor crapper until 1993. Grandparents added a bathroom in the early 80s. Quote

New 2 Bass Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Hey now. I remember being held down by my dad so my mom could put that stuff on, that or Iodine. It would be a better to go nuts from the mercuro-chrome. ;D Fishing was tough. Way to hot to do anything but sweat and sweat some more! I only caught one fish on a zoom watermelon lizard BassnBlvd rigged me up with (Jason gets kudos too on the catch, it was his lure) He was also kind enough to give up a new spot on his way out to work. I tried to get him to play hooky but he's a responsible guy. Some guys were pulling out monster pan fish on worms...monster. Big as the guys kid. Thats it. I had a great time with the boys, we need to do this in the winter. Seriously. Al Quote
