Hi there-

I'm new here - but found this on a google search...

I'm no pro, but like to fish frogs - don't catch a lot, but seem to get pretty aggressive strikes.

Normally, I've used rubber frogs, but ran across a lure in Bassin' magazine that was a hard-bodied frog?  Anyone ever use those?  Do they work?

Never seen one in person, and don't know anyone locally who has either.

Thanks in advance for any info!

Hi, welcome aboard.  There are three kinds of frogs -

1 Soft plastic types made out of the same materials as trick worms or finesse worms, some examples Zoom Horny Toad or Gambler's Cane Toad - They are fished on the surface with a lot of movement and commotion like a buzzbait.  They also work subsurface...

2 Buoyant Hollow bodied Frogs, made of a more vinyl-like material that float like Spro Bronze Eye Frogs (look up any posts by Snapper G...) and Scum Frogs - These float and can be twitched or walked.

3 Frog Crankbaits - Rebel Wee Frog, Megabass Type-X These are cranks and work twitched, steady retrieved, or any combo of the two.

All three work very well, all three are different techniques.
